While I'm a software developer, my interests extend well outside the IDE's edit window. Cincinnati is a city with a declining central population and real poverty and health problems. Various governmental and private non-profit services exist to serve the community, but they are not well known.  Nor are they well appreciated. I think that while the United Way helps with fund raising for these services, it also hides them from our view.

This lense is my attempt to make these services more visible.

Greater Cincinnati Oral Health Council

Dental Care for the Underserved

The Greater Cincinnati Oral Health Council began in 1909 to provide dental care to the underserved. It operates the McMicken Dental Center for the Homeless in Over-The-Rhine; the Lincoln Heights Regional Dental Center; a mobile dental office that visits Cincinnati Public Schools; a school-based dental sealant program in 7 Ohio counties; and Dental Options/Donated Dental Services, a program using volunteer dentists to serve those without dental insurance who are disabled or have health conditions. The organization provides dental care to more than 15,000 people a year in the Tri-State. For more information contact GCOHC at 513-621-0248.
