Pleasantly Pumpkin...
Learn how to roast pumpkin seeds, or use them for candied brittle instead. There's no waste after Halloween when you need all of the pumpkin guts to complete these delicious pumpkin treats recipes.
As well as being wonderful seasonal Fall flavors, these recipes will also double for delicious pumpkin Thanksgiving treats.. personally though, I enjoy pumpkin all year round, especially pumpkin cheesecake!
Pumpkin Spice Bread Recipe
Warm, Welcoming Fall Treat
Welcome, Fall! :-)
Ingredients:
* 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 1/4 cups sugar
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
* 1/2 can (8 ounces) canned or strained pumpkin
* 1/2 cup vegetable oil
* 2 eggs
Use a 9x5x3-inch greased loaf pan and sprinkle a thin layer of flour on it. Combine flour, baking soda, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, stir together both the pumpkin and vegetable oil and slowly beat in the eggs. Stir together both mixtures lightly and pour the batter into your pan.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Serve, and enjoy!
Suggested Additions:
Cranberries, nuts, raisins, or icing on top.

Fresh Pumpkin Pie
Use Your Pumpkin Guts!
Traditional recipe for homemade pumpkin pie made from scratch. Don't let your pumpkin go to waste...Ingredients
* 1 1/2 cups (cooked) mashed pumpkin guts.
* 1 cup milk
* 1 cup sugar
* 2 eggs, beaten
* 1 tsp. cinnamon
* 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
* 1/4 tsp. ginger
* 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
* 1 tsp. vanilla
* 2 Tbsp. melted butter
* Prepared pie crust
In a medium sauce pan, mix together all ingredients and heat on medium until hot, but do not boil. Immediately pour pumpkin mixture into your prepared shell and bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. A knife inserted into the center of your pie should come out clean once the pie has set.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Have an espresso machine? It's always the right season for pumpkin spice latte...or can be, when you have your own coffee recipe. ;-)Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
2 shots of espresso
(6-7 oz milk, heated and frothed)
2 tsp of sweetened condensed milk
1 tb. canned pumpkin (or 1 tsp. pumpkin spice syrup)
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
whipped cream topping
chocolate bar
Pour condensed milk, canned pumpkin or syrup, and 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice into a mug. Add espresso shots and stir in milk. Spoon on froth and top with whipped cream.
Use additional pumpkin pie spice and shave chocolate bars with your vegetable peeler to sprinkle on top for garnishes.
