With the release of Pure Country 2: The Gift into select theaters on October 15, director Chris Cain and star Katrina Elam were part of a press junket for interviews at Nashville's historic Millennium Maxwell house Hotel the week of the movie's release.

Katrina Elam, the star of the new movie Pure Country 2: The Gift and a performer at the 2010 Inspirational Country Music Awards on October 14, threw down some powerhouse vocals at The Stage in Nashville on Friday, October 15.

One of the performers at the 16th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards Show (ICM Awards) in Nashville on Thursday, October 14, 2010 will be Katrina Elam.

In November of 2009, many Nashvillians had the opportunity to participate in a free concert taping when country singers Katrina Elam and George Strait filmed some concert footage at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.

Singer Katrina Elam was born December 12, 1983 in the small town of Bray, Oklahoma. By 1998 Elam had already been named female vocalist of the year by the Oklahoma Country Music Association and the Oklahoma Opry. At the age of 16, Elam was signed to a publishing contract

In 2004, she released her self-titled debut album which made it into the Top 40 on Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) twice with the #29 "No End in Sight" and the #59 "I Want a Cowboy."

Now she is playing the lead role of Bobbie Thomas in A Pure Country Gift.

Travis Fimmel was born 15 July 1979 in Victoria, Australia. This former fashion model rose to fame as a Calvin Klein model, Now a serious actor, Fimmel is best known for his roles on television on "Tarzan" and "The Beast, in which he co-starred with Patrick Swayze. Fimmel currently lives in London, England.

He plays a cowboy who helps needy children and Bobbie's love interest in A Pure Country Gift.

Travis Fimmel also has a role in the new FX drama "Outlaw Country."

George Strait was born May 18, 1952 near San Antonio, Texas and he grew up working on a cattle ranch in the same area. In 1971, Strait enlisted in the US Army and he was honorably discharged in 1975. In 1981, Strait released "Unwound," his first single for MCA Records. "Unwound" reached the top ten of the Hot Country Songs chart that year, and was included on his debut album Strait Country.

Strait is called the "King of Country," and is considered a living legend for his unique style of western swing music, ballads, honky-tonk, and traditional country western music.

George Strait plays the mentor to Bobbie Thomas in A Pure Country Gift.

Actor Dean Cain was born July 31, 1966. He is best known for his role as Clark Kent/Superman in the television series "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" which ran from 1993 to 1997. Cain's co-star was Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane. Now Dean Cain plays the director of a music video in Pure Country 2: The Gift.

Cain told Celebrity Cafe that after shooting a documentary in Vietnam, "I flew back to Los Angeles for a minute and went and shot a movie called A Pure Country Gift, which is a movie I wrote with my father [Christopher Cain], who directed it. It's sort of a follow-up of the original Pure Country that my dad directed and I did a lot of writing on it."

Not only is Cain's father Chris Cain directing A Perfect Country Gift, his sister Krisinda Cain plays "Sis," and Cain's mother Sharon Thomas plays talk show host Marilyn Montgomery.

J. D. Parker is a musician and an actor who has appeared in films including The Widow and Judge (2007) and The Second Chance (2006). In A Pure Country Gift Parker plays the long-lost alcoholic father of Bobbie Thomas.

I had the opportunity to work as an extra on A Pure Country Gift both in the "Talk Show" scene and two different "Concert" audiences at two of "Bobbie's" concerts, as well as a third scene involving wind machines!

I had the chance to meet some other fun folks who also were extras on the set. From Left to Right: Helena, Kimberly, Amber, Sarah, J.D. Parker, Kathryn, and Wendy.



Some of the extras from "Pure Country 2: The Gift" stayed in touch after the filming of the movie and recently went to The Stage to see Katrina Elam perform on Friday night, October 15.

There is a scene in Pure Country 2 where Bobbie's boyfriend "punches" her manager. The camera cuts to the talk show "audience" (pictured here before taping), and I can briefly be seen in the movie in my purple and black striped sweater looking shocked!
