Qigong (Chi Kung )is a powerful and enjoyable way to enhance health, vitality, awareness, and athletic performance.
For thousands of years, millions of people have benefited from Qigong practices and believed that improving the function of Qi maintains health and heals disease. In traditional Chinese medicine, good health is a result of a free flowing, well-balanced energy system. It is believed that regular practice of Qigong helps to cleanse the body of toxins, restore energy, reduce stress and anxiety, and help individuals maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Although there is not yet an instrument that can measure the strength of Qi and that we may not fully know what Qi is physically, research has shown that external Qi of a Qigong master could produce significant structural changes in water and aqueous solutions, alter the phase behavior of dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline (DPPC) liposomes, and enable the growth of Fab protein crystals (Yan et al. 1999). It has been said that Qigong is one of the most powerful healing traditions ever developed in human history. It is literally a health wonder of the world.

Author and qigong master Ken Cohen opens his program by discussing healthy breathing and giving the listener a chance to assess his/her breathing habits. He then discusses the three stages of natural breathing: abdominal respiration, dan tian breathing, and embryonic respiration. Cohen's program includes four exercises: breathing while lying down, expelling unhealthy air, reversed breathing, and exploring other kinds of breathing.

Nicely done lens with lot's of information! I do yoga and someday I intend to try Qigong.
I had an angel reading recently and was told to spend at least an hour a day just breathing. Most days I don't find the time for that but I have had some amazing results when I do! *****

I have been very fortunate to have a great Qigong teacher right in my neighborhood. I have been studying with him for 9 months and Qigong has improved my life and well being greatly. Qigong is easier to learn in person, because it is easier to connect with the energy when working with someone who has developed their chi skills. In our classes we actually move energy. I have blogged about this extensively at http://authenticinsight.com. Nice job on the lens by the way!
