We Will Rock You

"We Will Rock You" was written by Brian May and performed by Queen in 1977. It is one of Queens biggest songs worldwide. One version of "We Will Rock You" was the opening track on the album "News of the World. When I first heard this song, I first thought of it as a protest song. Later, I thought it was a song to be played specifically, during the games at a football stadium. So, it's not surprising that "We Will Rock You" is played in sports arenas and has become a sports anthem. I remember being home from college, with my youngest sister singing, "You got mud on your face, you big disgrace, somebody better put you back into your place..." If she wasn't singing these lyrics, the song was being played somewhere and it was often followed by "We Are The Champions." "We Will Rock You" is one of those songs destined not to go away. It Is heard everywhere and several remixes as well as renditions have been made of this song. The song has made it on movie soundtracks such as D2: The Mighty Ducks.
