Electronic Security is a major issue in the world today.  Blackberry's, laptops and other communication storage devices all potentially have information that could damage a company or person if they fell into the wrong hands.

StrongTech provides a solution  for company wide RFID proection using High Steel Environment Tags

,Laptop Tags

and Server Tags.

About radio frequency identification

There are also semi passive tags, which are similar to active tags with their own power source, and there are antenna style RFID tags which works on a low frequency level.

In fact, many countries are beginning to use RFID technology and it is now crossing sectors, markets, and industries. This technology is new enough to have both positive and negative outcomes. Some are still at the early stages of implementing while others are more advanced.

Retail giants are using RFID to improve the supply chain efficiency thereby improving customer satisfaction. The United States have begun to use RFID tags in the e-passport system, already in use around other parts of the world.

RFID is used in safety sectors, financial sectors, retail sectors, and security sectors to name just a few. More industries and sectors come online regularly.

When RFID technology is used in retail management will know everything about the item when it gets to the checkout - price, size, and color just to start.

Credit card companies are also experimenting with using RFID technology. When RFID is in place, you just need to wave your card near the reader and it picks up the numbers.

There are two sides to the RFID debate. One side sees the advancement as a positive thing, allowing better control of inventory, theft, and even being smart enough to know when temperature changes occur that should not.

The other half of the debate sees RFID technology as an invasion of privacy, and their worry can be justified. Have you heard about the running shoes that have RFID technology hidden in the sole? The object is to gather data on the shoe so that they can be improved in the future but that's being considered an invasion of privacy.

On a global scale RFID technology has the potential to change the way we do business, as well as protect us from terrorist cells and fraud. On the personal level RFID technology has the potential to strip away our privacy all in the name of security. Whatever side of the RFID debate you find yourself, it is definately time to wake up and pay attention.

A little about the You Tube Vids below

RFID Technology has gotten alot of flack with the passport security issue. Take a look on you Tube, there's probably something there about RFID failure.

Strongtech takes RFID to the next level, and your whole system is protected using our proven technology.

The History of RFID

In 1946 Léon Theremin invented an espionage tool for the Soviet Union which retransmitted incident radio waves with audio information. Sound waves vibrated a diaphragm which slightly altered the shape of the resonator, which modulated the reflected radio frequency. Even though this device was a passive covert listening device, not an identification tag, it has been attributed as the first known device and a predecessor to RFID technology. The technology used in RFID has been around since the early 1920s according to one source (although the same source states that RFID systems have been around just since the late 1960s)

Different types of RFID

There are passive and active RFID tags. Passive RFID tags do not have an internal power source getting the minute amount of electricity that they need from the antenna. Active RFID tags have an internal power source, which broadcasts the signal to the reader. Active tags are more reliable, and they are so sophisticated they've been used to monitor the temperature of fresh produce or some pharmaceuticals. Others are used to record shock, light, vibration, radiation, and other atmospheric changes.
