WHO Channing Tatum

THE MOVIE "The Eagle of the Ninth"

THE DEAL The title may conjure up Tiger Woods, but this Focus Features project is actually a sword-and-sandals epic with Tatum ("G.I. Joe") as young centurion Marcus Aquila, who goes searching for the mysteriously vanished Ninth Legion in the mountains of Scotland. Donald Sutherland, Jamie Bell ("Defiance") and rising actor Mark Strong ("Body of Lies," the upcoming "Sherlock Holmes") also star. Director Kevin Macdonald and screenwriter Jeremy Brock both worked on 2006's "Last King of Scotland."

THE MOVIE "Taking Woodstock"

THE DEAL Celebrate the Long Island release of Ang Lee's new film (which opened in New York City Wednesday) with a screening and a 1960s-themed party. The event includes music from the era, prizes for the best-dressed hippies and giveaways of movie posters and soundtrack albums.

INFO Tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at Cinema Arts Centre, 423 Park Ave., Huntington. Tickets for the film are $9; admission to the event is free with purchased ticket for the 7 p.m. screening. Call 631-423-7611 or go to

cinemaartscentre.org.

THE MOVIE "Second Skin"

THE DEAL This documentary, written and produced by Valley Stream's Victor Piñeiro, focuses on seven people immersed in the computer-generated fantasy worlds known as MMORPGs, or Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games. Via their virtual bodies, some find happiness, some find love and some seem to lose themselves entirely. The film, which received good reviews on the festival circuit and enjoyed a brief theatrical run in New York City earlier this month, was released on DVD Tuesday. Here is some information about the bands

About Energy:

THE ENERGY stands as an exciting new force in music today, a blend of 80s-hard rock with indie sensibilities backing their music's positive message.
The band began with an undeniable connection between four young men: Adam, James, Ian and Zach, all from different walks of life but internally united - and before anybody knew exactly what was happening, THE ENERGY was born. Coming from humble beginnings - playing local clubs and unheralded haunts - The Energy quickly emerged as one of the most up and coming bands in the Northeast. The Energy has graced the stage at Fillmore@Irving Plaza, The Blender Theater@Gramercy, Marquee Theater, Highline Ballroom, the Viper Room, the Mercury Lounge, the Knitting Factory, the State Theater, the Chance Theater, the Middle East, and Harpers Ferry, consistently promoting messages of hope, personal struggle, and social consciousness.

During the round of touring for the release of their EP, Climbing Palace Walls, produced by Dae Bennett (Tony Bennett, Trey Anastasio, Rasputina), The Energy shared the stage with such nationally-renown artists as Ryan Cabrera, Eve 6, Fastball, Nine Days, Keith Kane of Vertical Horizon, VAST, and Colin Hay.

The band's single, "Runaway," is currently featured on the final episode of MTV's hit reality TV show The Real World: Hollywood. Not only that, radio station Z100 selected The Energy from a pool of thousands of artists from around the world for its contest New!, which highlights the work of select emerging musicians. The force is growing. The dream is burgeoning.

About Archangel:

ART+RHYMES+CHANGE+LIFE is the acronym for the hip hop artist, AR.change.L (a.k.a, Mister Migz). It is these four elements that define this phenomenal artist, who is as much of a visual artist as he is a spitter, with change being his personal and political constant and life being his playground. "The goal of my music and art is to evoke change. Change within myself, and change within my community." Not surprising, AR.change.L's style proves unconventional, as both the content of his music and the music itself would be categorized as progressive hip hop, if not in a genre all on its own. Drawing from impassioned personal experiences, AR.change.L's fiery lyrics discuss issues so close to home that listeners often find themselves mirrored eerily with the artist's vision.

About Vision:

Vision is a MC and producer from Mahopac, New York, northern suburbs of NYC. His long love affair with music began with flirtatious memories of making mixtapes as a kid, collages of memories if you will, and like for many of us, the first attempt at being in command of time. This, coupled with an instinctive drive for poetry that dates as far back as he can remember, gave Vision his reason to exist at a young age; taking a peek into the human experience and reporting back through music.

His career has taken him from huge mansions in Westchester to small apartments in the Bronx and the power of his music has translated from rich to poor, outcasts to traditionalists and all culminated into his first solo effort Love Child and his current work with NDNS.

No Defeat No Surrender (NDNS) is a loosely affiliated brand of artists, connected through real human relationships. They have all come up in the New York City Metropolitan Area and know each other through the natural process of life. Just folks who have formed an unofficial network. A human resource network; now that is power.

Awesome Movie Event that Happened on May 6th

Featured John Hampson of Nine Days and a Woodsongs dvd of Jakob Dylan

On May 6th at Clearivew Cinemas Babylon. I put together the first concert and movie in conjunction with Popcore Entertainment. I gave away gift bags with Long Island Pulse Magazines, 94.3 stickers and other cool things. Two of them were raffled off to the guests that included a $25.00 gift card to Starbucks and the other one included Jakob Dylan's new cd "Seeing Things". I also had the WMJC (94.3 FM) van that had great giveaways and prizes.

John Hampson performed first debuting songs from his new album called "Shiny New Album" which includes songs like "How Much" and "When We Were 22" and "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)" - the song that made him famous.

ABOUT JOHN HAMPSON OF NINE DAYS
John Hampson first burst on to the scene as lead singer and songwriter for Nine Days, a rock/power pop band who hit Gold with "Absoluely (Story of a Girl)" in the early 2000s and who still has populararity today. John has since pursued a solo career, with a new album planned for a 2009 release. His songs have been heard in many TV shows and Films and the hit song that made the band famous is still a modern rock radio staple. Recently, he had a hit with "The In Crowd" sung by Mitchell Musso for Disney Records (produced by Brian Malouf)

Afterwards, we showed an episode of Woodsongs featuring Jakob Dylan. Jakob Dylan is the lead singer of The Wallflowers who had a monster hit with the song "One Headlight." He is also the songwriter son of the legendary Bob Dylan. He and his band The Gold Mountain Rebels performed songs from his new solo CD "Seeing Things."

About Woodsongs:

What began in a small recording studio that could barely fit 18 people has developed into a multi-media, live audience broadcast that airs on 491 radio stations worldwide, XM Satellite Radio, online and on public television stations across the nation. Each week, millions of people tune in to hear WoodSongs produced every Monday evening from the historic Kentucky Theater in Lexington, KY. What is especially impressive with this theater venture is the opportunity to create a concert setting for viewers that are unable to make a taping.

Michael Johnathon, the folksinger, songwriter, environmentalist and creator behind the broadcast, is no stranger to the stage. In addition to the radio show, he tours in support of his latest release Walden The Earth Song Collection and wrote "Walden The Ballad of Thoreau," a play that has been presented in over 6,700 schools, colleges and community theaters worldwide including South Korea, Egypt, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Australia, Ireland, Argentina, Syria, England, Germany, Israel, Canada and the Unites States. Also, like his hero Thoreau, he is a published author releasing two books filled with social commentaries, short stories, memoirs, and songs.

Overall, We had over 150 guests and everyone enjoyed themselves very much!
