Can We Be The American Patriots Our Founding Fathers Were?

The United States of America: We're a melting pot of multicultural immigrants from all around the world; people who chose to leave their homelands behind for the promise of a better life as American citizens on American soil. If and when you renounce your birth country to adopt the United States of America as your new homeland, it stands to reason that your strongest desire should be to stand proud and tall, proclaiming yourself to be an American citizen, and vowing to preserve and protect your new motherland against any and all who wish to threaten the new way of life she provides. Hopefully this scenario is as unyielding today as it was a century or more ago, regarding recent arrivals from foreign lands. Such is not the case, however, with respect to the American-born citizen. Does the American-born citizen take "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" for granted? What is the reasoning behind referring to oneself as something other than just an "American" citizen? For what reason, other than dividing people (into cultural factions or otherwise), would an American-born citizen of the United States of America want to refer to oneself as an "African American", or "Asian American", or "Latin American"? If you were born on American soil, aren't you an American, period? People born on foreign soil and lawfully immigrating to America, are earning their citizenship, and are proud to call themselves American citizens. The insurmountable focus, of late, on "Political Correctness" and "Diversity" threatens to drive a dangerous and destructive wedge between America's citizens, thus dividing a nation and bringing about its inevitable collapse. As long as we're united, we stand strong, but once we're divided, we will most certainly fall!

I'm sure this topic will be considered "politically incorrect" by some, but it's a serious problem in the U.S., and thus deserves some attention. The quandary regarding Mexican "Illegal Aliens" is a hot debate. Since I could not possibly say it any better, I'm posting this: The following open letter was written by David J. Stoddard of Arizona, who served as a U.S. Border Patrol Agent for 27 years. It is addressed to Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee. These are his insights concerning illegal aliens:

Dear Senator Frist:

There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens, particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens.

1. Illegal aliens generally do NOT want U.S. citizenship. Americans are very vain thinking that everybody in the world wants to be a U.S. citizen. Mexicans, and other nationalities want to remain citizens of their home countries while obtaining the benefits offered by the United States such as employment, medical care, in-state tuition, government subsidized housing and free education for their offspring. Their main attraction is employment and their loyalty usually remains at home. They want benefits earned and subsidized by middle class Americans. What illegal aliens want are benefits of American residence without paying the price.

2. There are no jobs that Americans won't do. Illegal aliens are doing jobs that Americans can't take and still support their families. Illegal aliens take low wage jobs, live dozens in a single residence home, share expenses and send money to their home country. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a decent wage.

3. Every person who illegally entered this nation left a home. They are NOT homeless and they are NOT Americans. Some left jobs in their home countries. They come to send money to their real home as evidenced by the more than 20 billion dollars sent out of the country each year by illegal aliens. These illegal aliens knowingly and willfully entered this nation in violation of the law and therefore assumed the risk of detection and deportation. Those who brought their alien children assumed the responsibility and risk on behalf of their children.

4. Illegal aliens are NOT critical to the economy. Illegal aliens constitute less than 5% of the workforce. However, they reduce wages and benefits for lawful U.S. residents.

5. This is NOT an immigrant nation. There are 280 million native born Americans. While it is true that this nation was settled and founded by immigrants (legal immigrants), it is also true that there is not a nation on this planet that was not settled by immigrants at one time or another.

6. The United States is welcoming to legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are not immigrants by definition. The U.S. accepts more lawful immigrants every year than the rest of the world combined.

7. There is no such thing as the "Hispanic vote". Hispanics are white, brown, black and every shade in between. Hispanics are Republicans, Democrats, Anarchists, Communists, Marxists and Independents. The so-called "Hispanic vote" is a myth. Pandering to illegal aliens to get the Hispanic vote is a dead end.

8. Mexico is NOT a friend of the United States. Since 1848 Mexicans have resented the United States. During World War I, Mexico allowed German spies to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the U.S. During World War II, Mexico allowed the Axis powers to spy on the U.S. from Mexico. During the Cold War, Mexico allowed spies hostile to the U.S. to operate freely. The attack on the Twin Towers in 2001 was cheered and applauded all across Mexico. Today Mexican school children are taught that the U.S. stole California, Arizona, new Mexico and Texas. If you don't believe it, check out some Mexican textbooks written for their schoolchildren.

9. Although some illegal aliens enter this country for a better life, there are 6 billion people on this planet. At least 1 billion of those live on less than one dollar a day. If wanting a better life is a valid excuse to break the law and sneak into America, then let's allow those one billion to come to America and we'll turn the USA into a Third World nation overnight. Besides, there are 280 million native born Americans who want a better life. I'll bet Bill Gates and Donald Trump want a better life. When will the USA lifeboat be full? Since when is wanting a better life a good reason to trash another nation?

10. There is a labor shortage in this country. This is a lie. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of American housewives, senior citizens, students, unemployed and underemployed who would gladly take jobs at a decent wage.

11. It is racist to want secure borders. What is racist about wanting secure borders and a secure America? What is racist about not wanting people to sneak into America and steal benefits we have set aside for legal aliens, senior citizens, children and other legal residents? What is it about race that entitles people to violate our laws, steal identities, and take the American Dream without paying the price?

For about four decades American politicians have refused to secure our borders and look after the welfare of middle class Americans. These politicians have been of both parties. A huge debt to American society has resulted. This debt will be satisfied and the interest will be high. There have already been riots in the streets by illegal aliens and their supporters. There will be more. You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to U.S. citizens or to offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country. The interest will be steep either way. There will be civil unrest. There will be a reckoning. Do you have the courage to do what is right for America? Or, will you bow to the wants and needs of those who don't even have the right to remain here?

We will not allow America to be stolen by third world agitators and thieves.

The Tea Party of 2009 may just be leading up to "The 2nd American Revolution". On or around April 1st, 2009, all American citizens are urged to mail a tea bag to Washington D.C., as a, somewhat, symbolic attempt to inform our "non-representing" representatives in the house that we are extremely displeased with the way they are spending our tax dollars. It's a marvelous idea on paper, but in actuality, mailing tea bags to the capitol building may prove to be impractical and ineffective, simply because in this "post 9/11" era, all mail coming into the building will likely be scrutinized under a magnifying glass, and envelopes containing suspicious material are probably discarded without ever being opened.

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your
recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate
representative of the United States of America collectively or of me
personally.

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that
you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United
States of America. You are responsible to the citizens of the United
States. You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on
earth.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United
States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their
status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the
Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of
Europe? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all
about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does
not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration
of Independence or the Constitution of the United States? This country was
founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country,
at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not
understand this?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our
President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia.
You don't show Great Britain, our best and one of our oldest allies, the
respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia. How dare
you, sir! How dare you!

You can't find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation
because you don't want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque
in Turkey. You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the
Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from
themselves. What's the matter with you?

I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the
historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of
yourselves, all of you.

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American
automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this
situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie
Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about
them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to
their staff members - on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises
that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a
17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You
haven't said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn't!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in
bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that's $45 million more than the AIG
bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded
$51 million - not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven't you
expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the
economic mess we have right now?

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not
caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we
are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know
that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive
to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly
to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my
beautiful country.
