What is Radiant Heating

According to Wikipedia (which we all know is always right) Radiant heating by Warmquest is a technology utilized for the heating of both indoor and outdoor areas. Radiant heating comprises of "radiant energy" being emitted from a heat source, this radiant energy (commonly known as heat) then penetrates all objects in its path, including people.

I don't know if the heat actually penetrates people as it says above, but you never know. What does happen though is pretty basic.

If the Radiant technology is installed in your flooring, or roof or driveway, don't even think that those surfaces will get icy or snowy or cold ever again. And make sure you lie on your floor when the in floor heating is installed. It feels like you're on the beach, and you know you like to lie on the beach.

This article on Wikipedia is probably the best resource on learning the history behind underfloor/in floor heating technology. Did you know it was first used in Roman times? The Romans had what they called Hypocausts. Large spaces underneath the floor of the baths were filled with hot water or air, and thus heated the floor above it.

How does it feel....

When you are spending a couple cents a day for your gas bill and about the same amount on electricity, how do you decide which one should be heating your home? Electricity can be used with about the same amount of environmental conscience, however, it can be used for many more things than gas heat. For instance, when your driveway freezes over, wouldn't it be nice to know that you don't ever have to worry about that again with a heated driveway.
