For those of you who want to work in commercial radio, I highly recommend you take a moment to listen to the "Be a Heart DJ" podcast, even if you don't want to work for Heart, it gives a really good insight as to what it takes to be a presenter on the station. Luis Clarke gives a detailed insight from how he went from being a radio presenter, to running all the Heart stations, and what the role involves. A really great insight, and one of my favorites, as I listen to Heart quite a bit, and it's nice to hear what people do to make it sound like it does.

I also highly recommend the How to Be a Voiceover podcast, a great insight into the world of voiceover artists given by Caroline Woodruff, who gives an insight into the day-to-day life of a voiceover, how much to charge people, the equity scheme, how to get an FTP, ISDN Unit, as well as all the other equipment you'd need. A fantastic listen should you want to get into this industry

If you want to work in radio, or you're already in but want to climb the ladder to move to a bigger station, then you'll find the new series of podcasts produced by the people at the Radio Talent website useful.

There are currently 13 podcasts - some are free, while the full set can be downloaded for £12.99. Each runs for about 30 minutes and among those interviewed are:

Bruno Brookes - ex-Radio 1 presenter, now a successful businessman.
Luis Clark - Group PD for the Heart network (except London)
Paul Andrew - Heart Programme Controller
Sam and Amy - Breakfast presenters Heart 106
Joe Harland - Executive Producer, Radio 1
    Steve Parkinson - MD, Kiss 100/Magic 105.4
James Cridland - Digital Media expert
Caroline Woodruff - actress and voiceover

If you're looking to move onwards and upwards these podcasts are packed with a lot of useful advice and some key points to help you. Good Luck
