Raffi Music

Raffi Cavoukian was born in Egypt, and was raised in British Columbia, Canada.

While in high school, Raffi felt a love for American folk music, acquired a guitar and learned to play. After going to college for a couple of years he left to pursue a career in music. He was requested to create a set of songs just for children which he put onto tape - which started receiving quite a bit of popularity and requests for copies.

Raffi's first children's album was "Singable Songs for the Very Young" which he recorded from a basement studio. The album was picked up by A & M Records - at that point his popularity began to soar.

He focused mainly on children's music from the late 70's and through the 80's, and has now sold more than 8 million copies of his music. He's become known as "The Bruce Springsteen of the Younger Set". To this day Raffi's Music is some of the most sought-after by parents - and kids love him just as much as ever.

Raffi Cavoukian is not only a children's musical artist, he has created music along other genres and is an activist for the environment. His songs to children convey his love for all mankind and encourage a viewpoint of tolerance for all.
