A Hidden Gem Zombie Film
I created this lens to explain my unpopular appreciation for the zombie film, Raiders of the Living Dead. Despite its low-budget quality and virtually nameless standing in the horror genre I feel with an open mind zombie enthusiasts may share my point of view.

Review of Raiders of the Living Dead (1986)
Not 4 stars but it Delivers
This film ENTERTAINS AND STAYS TRUE TO THE ZOMBIE STYLE. Is this film going to be a zombie relic which all other directors will exemplify? Is it no surprise that no one has ever heard of it? Not really. Then why...you may be asking; why should I rent this film? There are obvious problems with this film but I can appreciate it as an exciting horror film which left me wondering what will happen next. The characters are interesting: a young scientific prodigy who creates a laser beam out of old laser discs machines, a reporter who discovers more than he bargained for, a mad doctor versus a concerned one. Although, I do not appreciate the musical soundtrack; I did however, love the sound effects which futher heightened the suspense. This film does keep you at the edge of your seat during the climax as well as zombie action scenes. You should rent it if you are a zombie afficianado like myself. The cons are stylistically the music is discordant, some of the monologues sound unrealistic, the editing is choppy and I don't believe the director of this film ever heard of dénouement . This is obvious when the movie begins with a terrorist, who carjacks a truck carrying hazardouz materials and engages in a shoot out with police then somehow the film transitions to a reporter who stumbles upon zombies. The overall success of this film is the ability to convey terror even without the use of gore and considering its low-budget quality.
