Railroad Signal and Sign Collection

Railroad Signal and Sign Collection Video

Here's the Video Description from the YouTube Video (shown below) from the owner of this railroad sign and signal collection (you can click on the video to view it on YouTube):

"Video of the railroad signals and signs, and road signs i have. Most of the signals (including the pair of block signals) came from a Missouri Pacific line that was abandoned in 1995. The most i paid for an item was $100 for the GRS relay case, which included most of the relay's in it. The rest i got for as little as $5, or free. Which includes most of the parts on the crossing gate.
That's right, it's a long story but i got the gate motor (a Safetran Style S), mast (WRRS Co.), and the 2 lights on the jury mast (RACO) for free as part of a large roll off dumpster of stuff BNSF threw out in 2004. All it took was 1 call to the dumpster company. Also some of the parts inside the gate mech. were missing, so i couldn't hook it up correctly. In a weird twist i got the parts i needed after a derailment at Neosho Rapids took down a crossing signal, and BNSF dumped the damaged parts off at the scrapyard i go to. I didn't have an arm though so i had to make one out of a 2X4 and broken gate lights. Last year i traded some relays for an arm (and the searchlight signal) from a guy from Wisconsin. The other parts of it are the Bell (WC Hayes, $20), which i need to work on as it's getting weak sounding (or replace it with a RACO one i have), main mast lights (WRRS, free from the MP line), and jury mast (Safetran, $40 from the scrap yard). Alltogether the signal is made up of parts from 6 manufacturers! (Safetran, WC Hayes, WRRS, Harmon electronics, RACO, and Modern Industries).
The "control" boxes you see came from the MP/ATSF crossing interlocking in Osage City. They controlled the time release (for when a train or MOW equipment encountered a red signal that was not caused by another train). The GRS relay case and 3861 signal heads were also used there.

As for the road signs, The fact is you can get them without stealing. I've gotten mine from farm auctions or the scrapyard. If you're looking for some try visiting your area scrap yard. The ones i buy are made of aluminum, so i pay for what their actual scrap value is (depending on the weight anywhere from 5 to $15). Signs made out of metal or steel would be cheaper (and may even be collectible).

The one i want to find info on is the 313TH Tac Air Wing sign. I picked this up at an auction many years ago. It was 1 of a stack of (info) signs that clearly came from an airbase. How they wound up in Kansas idk."

Crossing Signal System Video

Crossing Signal System Video

Video Description for Crossing Signal System (below) by YouTube user Rrxingrick:
"Here is the setup that I thought I would never get to see in my collection. This video is featuring 1 of the 2 US&S Teardrop bells that I got from a seller on eBay. That bell was installed in 5 seperate pieces because of the weight, which is 72 lbs., Vs. a normal M bell weighing in at around 30 lbs. The bell on the mast signal is my WRRS #4 M bell with its new gong, also, incandescent lighting is back for the front lights. Both bells ring constantly throughout the video and turn off when the gate rises as per many requests. Also, You'll notice a WRRS swinging lantern light as the tip gate light, that too was bought on eBay. As you can also see, I was sort of in the Christmas spirit and decided to decorate both signals with lights, its not too often that you see Railroads do that."
