Mainframe
ReBoot: the Plot

The ReBoot world exists inside a computer. It is the job of the main cast of "good" characters to keep the "bad" characters from destroying parts of their world, called Mainframe, which is divided into six sectors: Baudway, Kits, Floating Point Park, Beverly Hills, Wall Street, and Ghetty Prime.
Mainframe is hit with a barrage of threats such as viruses, impish game sprites, dangers via the Web, and user characters that must be defeated to save mainframe.
There are many puns and pop-culture references in these computer themed episodes the computer savvy person will fully appreciate, but you don't have to have any computer knowledge at all to enjoy the adventure of ReBoot.
Hey Gamers, do you ever think "what if it were all real? What if all the quests, fights, races against time, were all really happening to sentient beings inside the game?" With ReBoot...it is.
The ReBoot Characters
Here we begin a synopsis of the main characters of ReBoot. We will explore the personalities, purpose, and individual strengths of all the major players who battle within Mainframe. Bob

Bob is the "cool" character of ReBoot. He is officially Guardian 452, and he is the Mainframe protector. Bob is originally from Supercomputer, but calls the Kits sector of Mainframe home.
Bob is silicon blue, has grey hair with greyish-silver highlights, and carries a guardian tool, called Glitch on his arm.
He is confident, sometimes to a fault, impulsive, and bit of a loose cannon at times.
Bob is also friendly, brave, and willing to take risks to save his friends and Mainframe. He is the handsome boy-next-door who becomes a believable hero.
Dot Matrix
Dot is the owner of a popular diner on Baudway, and is Enzo's older sister. She has a smooth green skin tone and black hair.Dot is intelligent, business savvy, and thoroughly thinks through the problem at hand before taking any action.

Dot is a workaholic, so much so that she has a tendency to be the all work and no play type.
Being the brains of the team, Dot is the Command.com of Mainframe, but she can be caught happily singing a tune on occasion.
Enzo

Enzo is the green-skinned little brother of Dot. Like any young boy, he goes to school (where he hates studying COBOL and FORTRAN), likes wearing a baseball cap, enjoys sports and cars, and thinks Bob is just awesome!
Enzo has the energy and enthusiasm of a child, and eagerly jumps into the games. He is smart, kind, and loyal. He has a young friend, AndrAIa, and he even has a dog, Frisket, who will only take orders from Enzo.
At one point in a game, Enzo gets upgraded to an adult, where he becomes the roguish Matrix, the grown version of himself. However, Enzo is still saved as a child, so there is now Enzo the boy, and Matrix the man.
Matrix
Matrix is the upgraded version of Enzo. He has the jet black hair and green skin as his younger self, but with a LOT more muscle.Matrix is tough, real tough, trigger-happy, ruthless, and quick-tempered. He has a weapon called "gun", which takes voice commands, and a cybernetic eye replacing one he lost in a game.
Matrix thinks of his younger self as weak and defenseless, but he also doesn't want Enzo to grow up like himself. Matrix realizes that he is walking a fine line between being the good guy and the unfeeling, merciless killer like Megabyte.
Matrix is in love with the adult AndrAIa, and is protective of her, but can also react with jealousy when he thinks someone is out of order. AndrAIa

AndrAIa (with the AI capitalized, representing Artificial Intelligence) is a game sprite that found her way outside the game to Mainframe. She is one of the good guys though, and was the friend of Enzo as a child. She went through an upgrade and became the love interest of Matrix.
AndrAIa has tan skin and aquamarine hair, she wears two different earrings, and has mermaid like qualities (she escaped an ocean-like game).

As an adult, AndrAIa is beautiful and light-hearted. She fell in love with Matrix at first sight, and keeps Matrix grounded as much as she can. She is one tough woman, though, and not to underestimated.
AndrAIa has fingernails that can paralyse and uses a trident in combat. She also has a thing for motorcycles.
Let's take a vote
Mouse
Mouse is a super hacker with a southern drawl and carries a katana as a weapon. She has purple skin, wild orange hair, and fang-like canines. Mouse was arrested by Bob when he discovered her trying to hack into Supercomputer.
Mouse was a mercenary for Megabyte, but was double crossed and so she became an ally to Bob and the other guardians. Her hacking skills became a great asset to Bob and the team. She is good friends with Dot, and was even in her wedding.
Ray Tracer

Ray Tracer is a web surfer with the Motorola logo as an icon. Ray has a tan skin-tone and blonde hair. He is connected to his surf board and will remain alive as long as any part of his surf board remains.
Ray is an adrenaline junkie and adventurer. He is your stereotypical fun loving surfer dude, and develops a romantic relationship with Mouse.
Ray Tracer was the object of Matrix's anger at one point when he believed Ray had an interest in AndrAIa that was more than plutonic, but eventually came to his senses. Especially since Ray Tracer risked his life to repair AndrAIa, and then became involved with Mouse.
Turbo
Turbo is the Prime Guardian Leader and talks like a Texan. He has yellow hair, a silvery skin tone, and is built like a soldier.Turbo is very matter-of-fact, and will do what ever is necessary to protect and serve. He is intelligent, honorable and courageous.
Turbo was forced to arder the destruction of Mainframe because of a malicious and corruptive Web creature, but his plans were thwarted by Bob. Turbo and Bob then found themselves on opposite sides, not only because of this, but also because of differing views concerning the destruction or rehabilitation of viruses.
They still were united concerning the protection of Mainframe and its inhabitants in general. Welman Matrix

Welman is Enzo and Dot's father, which makes him also the father of Matrix. Welman has the green skin and black hair which was passed down to his children.
He is also a scientific genius, or rather was, until one of his inventions, a gateway to outside systems, backfired. Welman was cought up in the explosion and became nullified. This does not mean completely destroyed, however, but turned into a null, which is a creature with little intelligence and willpower. As a null, he was "adopted" by Megabyte as a pet.
Welman does have touching moments of clarity throughout his existance as a null.
Phong
Phong is the system administrator for Mainframe and lives in the Principals Office. Some believe he was the command.com before Dot Matrix.Phong is colored a golden metallic, and has the demeanor of a wise old man. He loves the game Pong, and challenges many to a Pong duel. When Phong does decide to give out his sage advice, it is usually the random musings gathered from a combination of README files.

Frisket

Frisket is definately boys best friend. This large red and yellow feral dog will do anything for Enzo, and takes orders only from him.
Frisket is one powerful dog. So powerful and strong that he can stop armored tanks and catch cannonballs in his teeth as if they were just balls of air.
For some reason, Frisket just doesn't like Bob.
and the winner is...
Megabyte
Megabyte, one of the bad guys, has blue-steel armored skin, three rows of teeth, a british accent, and is a virus in control of the Ghetto Prime sector in Mainframe who keeps trying to break his way into Supercomputer. Megabyte has a virtual arsenal of weapons and abilities such as: wall-scaling, super reflexes and strength, an incredible jumping ability, slicing fingertips, memory copying techniques, and the ability to virally infect other objects.
Megabyte is extremely cunning, but also has a quirky sense of humor. He also has some musical talent shown when he crashed Enzo's birthday party, went head to head with Bob on the guitar, and then gave the guitar to Enzo as a birthday present. Hexadecimal

Hexadecimal is the masked-faced sister of Megabyte. She is chaotic, emotional, and super-powerful. She is so powerful that if she weren't a little crazy, she would be a lot more dangerous than she is.
Hexadecimal lives in the Lost Angles sector of Mainframe.
She has boundless energy, can shoot fireballs, energy beams, she can fly, control nulls, control gravity, and open a looking glass portal to the Web to take control of various systems.
Hexadecimal enjoys causing chaos for the sake of chaos...and trying to destroy her brother, Megabyte.

- I quickly skimmed through your post on ReBoot. Pretty well done and thorough. I was a big fan of ReBoot back in the day, and was also one of the people who wrote the Wiki page on the show. I just want to point out that "Nibbles", Megabyte's pet null, is NOT Welman Matrix. Nibbles is actually Megabyte/Hexadecimal's own father.
Cheers!

- I loved ReBoot and only recently did I try to see if I could find the series to purchase. I was dissapointed to see that most of the series didn't make it to DvD and what did has been discontinued and cost over $100 a DvD. This is really sad 8(.
