Hi! Big Mac,
In answer to your question I am not aware of a particular name for the Thai style of dancing.
It is very much a regional thing with each dance having a particular name. For instance the fingernail dance is the one we most often associate with Thailand especially Northern Thailand.
Other dances are called the Temple dance and the Candle dance.
The most common to us is probably the Fingernail dance. Where the girls wear elongated gold fingernails. Very graceful it is too!
Although at this time I cannot give you a definite name sor the style of dancing I will be seeing a friend of mine in the near future who may know the definitive answer so, if you can curb your frustration a little longer I will try to get you an answer.

First please excuse the delay in replying. Computer problems!
It is possible to get a visa on arrival in Thailand but it will only be valid for thirty days. You can renew by leaving the kingdom and return the same day which will give you a further 15 days.
If you wish to stay longer I suggest you download the visa information on the website of The Royal Thai Consulate in the Phillipines. you can apply for a one year category "O" multiple entry visa. This will require you to renew every 90 days.
If you are buying a property in Thailand you must be aware that as an "alien" you cannot own land in Thailand unless you or your partner are Thai national. My advice is to consult a Thai Lawyer before entering into any property negotiation.
You can however buy a condominion apartment and own it. There will however be services charges to pay annually. You will not own the land it stands on!
Hope this helps REGARDS[in reply to mayllen

I lived in Chiang Mai for a year. It was a fabulous experience! I wish I had read your lens before I went though - it would have been really helpful :) Keep it up!
