How to Make and Save Money in a Recession

The recession is here and the economy sucks - but it doesn't have to for everyone. Educate yourself on ways to do more than survive, but thrive, during this economic recession and improve your own financial standing.

It is interesting to note that a recession isn't usually defined as a recession until after the period is over. The last time America had a recession was from November 2001 until November 2002.

Indications of a recession are a drop in the stock market, the increase in the unemployment rate and jobless markets, or the weakening of the real estate market.

So what do we do!?

First thing: Create an Action Plan
Second thing: Create an Accurate Budget
Third thing: Begin to Create an Emergency Fund
Fourth thing: Save Money
Fifth thing: Begin to Make More Money

Another Way To Make More Money

How Much Can You Make With $3?

Yeah, you read that right, how much can you make with $3 dollars?

I stumbled upon this website where you pay $3 dollars to sign up, then you tell 3 friends to do the same thing. From those 3 friends who sign up under you, you will earn your $3 dollars back. Just like that. Now, each of those 3 friends tells 3 more friends (so 9 total) and they sign up (for only $3 dollars) and you keep earning money. You earn money from anyone who signs up from you (directly) or anyone who signs up under someone who signed up under you (so indirectly) to 15 levels deep.

I thought it was pretty cool. But it works best if either 1) You are good at Internet Marketing or 2) you already have a list of friends.

Examples: If you have a lot of friends on Facebook, Myspace, Hi5, Bebo, FriendFinder, etc. OR if some of your friends have a lot of friends! Remember, you only need to tell 3 people but each of those 3 need to tell 3 more and so forth. If you have a friend who is connected to tons of people and they sign up, then it should be easy.

A large Twitter following or lots of Blog readers is also a plus for making hundreds $, thousands $, or more each month!

American's Are Uneducated

I believe American's school system does not teach our children how to balance their checkbook, understand credit cards, understand credit, save money, or how to invest for themselves and their future.

I believe the poor and middle class families are the most at risk during economic hardships and that the children in these families are disadvantaged for learning about financial responsibility and the aforementioned subjects.

If you are not learning something in school, and your parent's never learned it so they can not teach it to you, you have to go out on your own to learn it. But, how would you know you needed to learn it on your own?

School doesn't teach you how to be financially abundant. My middle class parent's can't teach it to me (if they could, then they wouldn't be middle class!) so how am I suppose to know that there are people that can teach this? I have to go out and learn on my own.

What do YOU think? And more importantly... what is the basis for your thinking pattern? Because that is what was instilled in you from your teachers and parents.. or because you learned on your own?

Do you agree our education system needs to change?

I agree, it needs revamped.

America's education system and family units are fine as is.

What is Gas Cost $10 a Gallon?

Yeah, true article!

"What if gas cost $10 a gallon?" That is the name of an article I read on MSN Money's website. Makes you think, doesn't it? I drive a Honda Civic, one of the best cars for gas mileage. However, I learned that other countries have very strict limits on gas mileage. Some, like Japan, could not even import our cars because the gas mileage is so bad. It doesn't meet their minimum acceptable limits! (but yet they make us low gas mileage vehicles, go figure!) So what are some ways we can improve our own gas mileage? What are some ways we can save more money, earn more money, and get more of our daily stuff for living, at cheaper prices - or even free? I started a blog to follow the news and help others find ways to save.
