    Great info on records~

Great Lens, I would like to mention something I have learned over the years, It amazes me how some vintage pressings like a Columbia 6 eye labels or a Blue Note deep groove hold up very well in lesser condition, In fact, I been amazed at how many of those Blue Notes visually graded in VG minus and below condition have played for me, felt scratches hardly sounding at all, I find original or second pressing Blue Notes in this condition all the time, for 5% or less of a mint copy price, On the other hand, a mid 70's thinner pressing Blue Note in that condition is not listenable, those 50 and 60's pressings just look and feel better made.

We are new collectors and so excited. We have music from the 50's to the 70's. Your page will be most helpful as we grade and catalog our collection!

  • bakerwoman Feb 22, 2011 @ 11:03 pm | delete
We have a stack of vinyls from the 70's. This lens will help us figure out what some of these are worth, if anything. Blessed.

My husband has a bunch of old 70's and 80's vinyl records. We keep meaning to sell them but never seem to get around to it. Several have only been played twice because he taped them and only played the cassette tapes.

I like to use Goldmine as a guide, but I consider myself an expert in the field of album collecting, due to the fact I have been collecting Lps for over 35 years. Great information, and informative lens.

I have a collection of LP's. Mostly Country. Many Classic Albums and some as old as the early 60's and late 50's. The covers are in excellent condition and most have no scratches at all. There are some I have that I bought because they were old and in good condition, but had no cover. I am looking for a buyer. Find me on facebook or email at debcan911@yahoo.com

Too bad you are not offering the price guide for free. LOL My husband doesn't want to part with our vinyl, but it would be nice to know how much each one is worth. Guess I will have to buy the book. 5 stars!

My ex-husband, who is 11 years my senior left my a ton of old late 60's and 70s albums about 10 years ago. Most have some fading and wearing on the covers, but they are classics. I drag them around with me each time I move, should I really just toss them?

Like most baby-boomers, I have a huge collection of vinyl. I still have a record player, as well.

Have not used it in EVER so long. Instead I have been listening to Sirius Radio Channel 18 - Spectrum.
  • allsound May 7, 2008 @ 8:40 am | delete
