Red Mole

A red mole is benign, and at times cancerous skin growth, that occurs on any part of the body. They exist in different colour shades of red and can be quite disturbing to your health and cosmetic value. They pose many physical features when they exist on the skin. Their size, shape and colour can be used to ascertain if they are cancerous nature.

The presence of varying colour of a particular mole should be a cause to see the dermatologist. It proves that the cells are actively dividing and cancerous. Also, the presence of jagged edges of a red and asymmetry in growth mole should equally rouse a medical attention.

But not all moles are dangerously cancerous. Quite alright it is essentially a cancer. But in most cases it is just a benign growth that takes space on the body. However, this benign growth can be of cosmetic significance too. It can be numerous and relatively massive, in which it causes disfiguration, especially when present on the face. Thus, people sought earnestly to remove them, whether it is of cosmetic or health significance.

Red moles are common features of an aging skin. Elderly people have it as a common sign of old age. It grows spontaneously with time, whereby the cells of that local part of the skin continue to divide and enlarge until there is a substantial elevation of skin with a reddish colouration. It is genetic and can be passed down the generation of both the paternal and maternal lineage. So, most people who have their mother or grandfather plagued with red moles are very susceptible to its attack.

Cherry angiomas are also small red lumps that commonly grow on the skin, and they are often confused for red moles. Cherry angiomas occur as a result of concentration of dilated capillaries on the superficial areas of the skin. They occur mostly on the abdomen and on the torso. They characteristically bleed when they are bruised because of the concentration of blood vessel. However they do not have actively dividing cell, so they are not essentially red moles.
