Red Earth Festival Parade | Oklahoma City
A grand parade, unlike any other parade in the world, opens the 2009 Red Earth Festival on Friday morning. The streets of downtown Oklahoma City will vibrate in Native American tribal spirit as representatives of more than 100 tribes, in full tribal regalia, make the Red Earth Parade one of America's most unique.
Hundreds of spectators lined the streets of downtown Oklahoma City for the 2008 Red Earth parade, featuring more than 100 entries including Red Earth Honored One, Red Earth founding fathers/mothers, Red Earth board leadership, Seminole Nation Color Guard, tribal leaders, tribal princesses, Cheyenne & Arapaho Peace Chiefs, youth groups, churches, Native American organizations (Native American Cultural Center & Museum, Indian City USA), Express Clydesdales, Bank of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Police Mounted Patrol as well as dancers dressed in full tribal regalia.
