Grandma's Attic Quilting com
A good start to read about the basics of Redwork and a great source to buy pattern and supply.
Redwork Revisited by Cindy Brick
An online "re-print" of an article by Cindy Brick : "Redwork Revisited" which first appeared in McCalls Quilting. It is about the beginning of Redwork and the "Penny Squares". With nice Redwork illustrations and the picture of an impressive vintage red & white signature quilt.
Redwork Info by Barbara Parish
Barbara Parish site is an eldorado of Redwork pattern. A lot of them inspired by vintage motifs. She used to have a free Redwork pattern of the month but seam to have stopped them in February 2006. The older once are still online, though.

Redwork on Amazon

see what's available in print....

Not many books are available about Redwork only, but the once I know off can be found via Amazon (new & used).

Then there are also quite a few magazines that feature article and/or pattern on Redwork now and then....

Red & White : American Redwork Quilts & Patterns (Volumes 1 & 2)

My absolute favourite is "Red & White American Redwork Quilts" from Deborah Harding. Plenty of pictures of the most beautiful Redwork quilts, a cornucopia of information on Redwork pattern and their vintage sources as well as Redwork history. And the big bonus is the pattern book that belongs to the set. It gives directions on how to Redowork and has lots of vintage pattern to trace and stitch....

Historical Penny Squares: Embroidery Patterns

This book is on my "must-have" list. According to the American Quilters Society (the publisher) this book is for quilt historians, pattern collectors (me myself and I) and creative quilters. I quote:
"... Willa tells stories and offers insight into the spirt of the quiltmakers' lives who developed the Penny Square designs. Her research concentrates on the pre-1915 Penny Square quilts where themes like flowers, animals, baskets, famous people and nursery rhymes were all used in the same quilt."
I love the combination of history to read and creating your own piece of history by re-designing a vintage Redwork Quilt.

Favorite Redwork Designs

I don't know why they chose this flower as the cover picture for this book. It is the least interesting of Betty Alderman pattens in "Redwork Design.
Again you have Redwork directions, lot's of (rather modern) Redwork pattern and full instructions for Redwork quilts. Among others an entire "Alphabet Sue" Redwok Quilt, a Wallhanging "Friends at my Garden Gate" with cute little critters and a "Botanical Redwork" depicting "botanical specimens" (this is where the flower on the cover comes from) with an interesting border finished with buttonhole stitches....
