Need to Relax - Naturally ?

What can you do when you've had a bad day and you really need to relax, but you want to do it naturally ?

There are many things that you can do to relax naturally.

It just depends upon your health, where you are and how much time you have.

Here are some simple natural solutions that work for me.

First - see your doctor !

Please ask your doctor BEFORE you try any of these to make sure these tips are safe for you to do because not everyone can do all of these.
You want to rule out any health problems that could make things worse.

Time to relax

Create a relaxing atmosphere

If you can, put on some relaxing music, darken the room a little and grab a lavender sachet or dream pillow to softly scent the area and help to set the tone.
Have a cup of organic herbal tea and do some deep breathing too.

Roll your way to natural relaxation

Shoulder rolls that is

Start out with a few very slow shoulder rolls.
A shoulder roll is when you shrug your shoulders up and then slowly bring them around First roll both of them to the front together a few times and then roll them to the back together at the same time. Then roll them one at a time to the front and then to the back.
These will help to relax you neck and upper back and can sometimes help to relieve a headache too.
If you feel any pain, stop and ask your doctor about it !

Get your head in the game !

The relaxation game that is - naturally !

Next, I put a warmed towel across my shoulders and I sit up straight and slowly allow my head to drop down to my chest while keeping my shoulders up straight.
I let the weight of my head pull it down for about 10 seconds and than I slowly wag my head back and forth a little to loosen those muscles.
Make a little game of it if it helps by counting how many times you wag your head back and forth while you tell your stress to take a hike.

Now I want to rest my neck and breath in more of the relaxing lavender scent so I sit back in an easy chair or recline on the couch and put a naturally scented neck pillow behind my neck for support.

If I have a bad headache, really need to relax or get a good night's sleep, I will also use a naturally scented eye mask to shut out the light and give me more of the all natural lavender scent.
* I try to always remember to use a washable eye mask liner too to keep my eye mask clean as it has real lavender inside and cannot be washed.

For those REALLY bad days or for a nice treat just because

How about a nice warm bath or shower to loosen up those tired muscles ?

I love to use these All Natural Bath Salt Teas and have a good long soak in the bath tub and that works best, but they can also be used in the shower too.

The warmth of the water and the beneficial salts and herbs do wonders for taking all of that stress right down the drain - ahhhhh !

After all of this, I usually feel great !

But, if all of this fails a massage would do wonders if you can afford to get one.

I also like acupressure to get after those tough super tense muscles.
