My Rendezvous with the Rocket Moms

Graduation

GRADUATE! Isn't that totally awesome?! I must admit, when I first joined Rocket Moms and started reading lenses from the previous classes, I was quite concerned about my ability to meet this challenge. There are so many wonderful women in Rocket Moms and their lenses are exceptional.

Let me tell you about of few of the women I have met and my personal Rendezvous with the Rocket Moms.

Our Tireless Leader

Wow! I have never met a more "electrified" leader than bdkz. Not only does she have boundless energy, she is the most accommodating and easy going person I have ever worked with online or off.

She was constantly covering my tracks. While I would rather not innumerate them here, let me just say that I made several mistakes that Bonnie helped me correct.

She is a tremendous inspiration, encourager and helper!

Our First Assignment ~ What in the World had I Gotten Myself Into?

During the 8 week class, I made several friends, read a lot of wonderful lenses and wrote about things I didn't even know I wanted to write about. The Rocket Mom challenges were a lot of fun. At first, I was a bit intimidated by the assignments.

Right off, we were asked to write a lens about our favorite toy. My first thought when I read the assignment was, "oh my, I don't remember my toys." It turned out to be a really neat experience. As I thought about my childhood, a lot of wonderful memories flooded my mind. I thought about people I knew as a child, family vacations and all of my precious sibling's mischievous antics. It really was a wonderful trip down memory lane and I knew what favorite toy I had to write about. The one that accompanied me through all of my childhood and now belongs to my daughter. Thus, My Favorite Toy ~ Barbie was born.

It turned out to be one of my favorite assignments and I thoroughly enjoyed writing the lens.

A Big Surprise from A Special Rocket Mom

The most outstanding experience during my Rocket Moms adventure happened when I woke up to an email from a fellow Rocket Mom. I was shocked and surprised to the point of tears to find out that Holley, 24websurf, who I met in Rocket Moms, had written a beautiful story about me on her blog. A Mouse With A Giant Heart.

This truly was the sweetest compliment!

My Squidoo Mentor is a Rocket Mom

Because of the assignments, I have written several lenses that I was very proud to publish. With a lot of help and encouragement from my mentor, Carol Fisher aka Stazjia, I published my lensography, Hangin' With Sylvestermouse and Her Favorite Animals

I laugh now when I think of the many emails that passed between the two of us and how patient she has been with me since my very first published lens when she wrote that first critique. Carol has recently published my interview on her blog site, StazjiasPotppourri.

Needless to say, I latched on to her like the proverbial drowning rat on a sinking ship and she has saved several Sylvestermouse lenses.

Get to know Carol, You Will Love Her Too

A Helping Hand from Another Rocket Mom

The best part of Rocket Moms is that other lensmasters really care. They generously give of their own time and talents.

Even writing this, I am reminded of how Heather aka hlkljgk uploaded a video onto You Tube for me to use in my The Tale of the Bunny Picnic Video Review lens. It is amazing how she took time to help me improve my lens when she could have been writing one for herself.

Thank you Heather!

My Thanks to This Rocket Mom

Rocket Moms has been wonderful to me and for me. I am forever grateful to Mary Beth aka mbgphoto for recommending me to this marvelous group. I met Mary Beth early in my Squidoo life and I was absolutely thrilled when I discovered that we were both team members on Team One during the Giant Squid Challenge.

Her photography is stunning! I love her lighthouses, her covered bridges and her Florida beach shots. I plan for Mary Beth to be a big part of our Christmas this year. You see, I need those beach scene coffee cups!

I do, your work is pretty great, wish I could be one...but I'm not a mom.

Stacy, you are not alone! I think that might be part of the reason why they are now the RocketSquids. Of course, now you might be too old of a squid since I think that is for newbies. LOL, of course, I could be mistaken about that.
