Tips for getting a good deal renewing cell phone contract

1- Call 611, say you want to cancel...tell the perosn who answers you either found a better deal on a phone, or once you get to a person ask them something like how much advance notice do I need to give Tmobile if I want to leave? Be very nice, chat up the rep and odds are you will at least get 6th month free, maybe a retention plan and or a good price on a phone.

2-Take a look at their most recent phones and see if there's anything that interests you. If you're happy with your current model and your T-Mobile service, simply threatent to cancel (nicely) and when they start to make offers, tell them the phone you'd like.

3- if you do decide to go somewhere else, and want to keep your number, do NOT cancel your account. If you do, you won't be able to port the number, as it would technically not be yours to port anymore.
