GameFly- My favorite place to rent video games on the internet.

Well, we all knew that after NetFlix and Blockbuster changed the way we rent movies forever, it would only be a matter of time before the way we rent video games was revolutionized as well.

The company I use to rent video games on the internet is Gamefly and they really don't have much competition as far as I am concerned.

It is so much cheaper to rent video games on the internet.

You'll never have to buy a game again!

We all know the drill... The hottest, newest, highly anticipated, most badassest video game ever is released after months of hype and we all rush out to buy it.

We get home and can hardly wait to take the shrink wrap off the box and hurriedly put the game in our console.

And then.... after three days to a week tops (with the exception of sports titles and very few other video game types) we have beat the game and banish it to the shelf to collect dust, while we repeat the cycle all over again.

Just doesn't make sense does it?

There has to be a better way!

And there is...

Now the scenario I described above is probably all too familiar to you. And if you are playing an XBox 360 or a Playstation 3, then you know that plopping down $50-$60 every time a new game comes out really is a heck of a price to pay for a few days of bliss. So why do it?

Don't!

Rent video games with GameFly instead. You pay only a low monthly fee (which varies based on how many games you want to have out) and get to keep the games until you are tired of them and then ship them back for new games.

There are no late fees either and no trips to the video store.

And when you really crunch the numbers, GameFly is good for your pockets! If you are anything like I used to be, you probably purchase about two new video games a month.

And if you game on the newest generation of systems (XBOX360, PS3) then that totals about $130 per month after taxes. So switching to GameFly instantly puts AT LEAST a crisp $100 bill back in your pocket every single month, but with no trade off. You still get to play the same video games you would have purchased anyway, except you pay a fraction of the cost. That's a win-win in my book every day and the reason I rent all of my video games online now.

Actually, now Blockbuster is starting their Total Access where you can choose to rent movies, games, or both. I was thinking about trying it because it takes about five days for Gamefly games to reach me, and about five days for them to receive them when I ship them back. It seems that they have some major shipping issues and it is pretty annoying. I wish you would have meantioned that in your comments. It is nice to rent games this way, but I really wish they had better shipping.
