What Lies Ahead For Retiring Baby Boomers?

A large percentage of retiring baby boomers are in for a shock. Aging baby boomers are walking into a storm of problems. Amongst them the concern of how they will cope financially in the future as they live longer than usual and start burning up their savings, fast! Also, the risk of their health deteriorating and no longer being able to work and earn an income. By reading this you will discover what retiring baby boomers are heading into, as well as a possible solution to this looming dilemma.

At The Tail End Of Retiring Baby Boomers

The reason I started to do a little research into what retiring baby boomers are facing ahead of them, is because I'm at the tail end of the baby boomer generation and wanted to start the ball rolling on preparing for retirement. I'll explain why.

Almost seven years ago, my husband and I and our 3 kids, immigrated from Zimbabwe and headed for our new home in Australia.

How did this affect us? Well, due to circumstances beyond our control, we went from comfortable to struggling within a matter of weeks. Our Zimbabwe dollars equated to nearly nothing once we got it out of the country. So, here we were, heading into our forties and financially, having to start from the beginning again, with 3 children to put through school, college and university.

Aging Baby Boomers Facing Retirement

The little bit of research I did revealed alarming results for aging baby boomers facing retirement.

After world war 2 and during the years between 1945 and 1966 there was literally a breeding frenzy and millions of babies were born worldwide. This generation was known as the baby boomer generation and they were responsible for influencing a number of trends that took place over the years.

But now the baby boomer generation is heading for retirement and for the majority things don't look so good.

In Australia alone there are 5.6 million baby boomers between the ages of 45 and 65 and apparently less than 1 million of them have a secure future in terms of superannuation and health funding. Surveys discovered that the baby boomers are not financially prepared for later life.

Have you ever thought of what age you'd "like" to retire.

Many of the baby boomer generation will have to work for many more years than they planned and because on the whole, they won't be able to secure full time work, they'll have to have a couple of part time jobs just to make ends meet.

With the progress of technology in the health arena, retiring baby boomers will live longer, causing the length of their retirement years to be extended. Sustaining these extended years financially is going to be a challenge if steps aren't taken now to secure a long term income.

In 10 to 20 years for the first time in history the elderly will outnumber the young. This will create its own set of problems.

Employment for the older generation will become more and more difficult, because employers will obviously lean more towards employing younger people. I have personally met people who have already experienced this in their 50's and that is not old!

The cloud hanging over the aging baby boomers was not isolated to Australia.

I read in a Dallas news article that the majority of attendees in a certain support group for jobless professionals, were baby boomers in their 40s, 50s and 60s.

Internet Network Marketing. . .A Possible Long Term Solution For Retiring Baby Boomers

Maybe, like my husband and I, you haven't got a lump sum saved to carry you through the golden years, or you've realised with the current financial crisis that you won't have enough anymore to see you through. That doesn't mean there aren't any other options.

As a solution to our future financial planning for retirement, one of the options my husband and I have chosen is Internet Network Marketing.

You can build your Internet Network Marketing business part time now, with no risk to your full time employment.

The benefits of working from home are numerous, with minimal overheads and you can work at your own pace and in your own time.

If you have a computer, which I presume you do, if you are reading this, you can build a business online, with very little computer skills needed.

YOU WILL NEED TRAINING AND A WILLINGNESS TO LEARN

Getting the right education and effective training will be the keys to moving towards financial security in your retirement years.

We provide extremely detailed step by step video training to help you build your internet network marketing business, so you never have to worry about struggling on your own.

The best way to meet our needs and wants for as long as possible is to have our own home based business, which generates a steady income. We need to create for ourselves an evironment where we don't have to worry about being laid off and can enjoy the benefits of being our own boss.

Instead of worrying about how you can secure a lump sum, it makes more sense to look at how you can generate a monthly sustainable income, long term.

If you're willing to get behind your computer and start learning something new, Internet Network Marketing may be the solution to your problems.

When it comes to owning your own business, there is not a more affordable structure available than Network Marketing, provided you get effective training and education. I believe effective training plays a key role in achieving true success.

Training With MarketingMerge

You can get this kind of training through MarketingMerge. Here, we give you step by step video training tutorials on how to get your internet network marketing business up and running successfully at minimal cost.

    Hi Christine

Thanks for highlighting what is to become a huge problem for all generations in the coming decades.

The good news for Babyboomers is that Mature Age will mean a lot more to employers as the skill shortage sets in. This has been caused by zero population growth in the last few decades and therefore we do not have skill replacements for all the Boomers who will retire soon.

One retiree is paid for by the taxes of 5.5 workers in Australia now but there will only be 3 workers paying taxes for one retiree in 2030. The X,Y and Z generations will pay but we need to help ourselves as well I believe.

We can still have a BONZA time in life but do yourself a favour and plan your financial future and keep working in some capacity as long as you can.

All the best to you and the site Christine.
