Reuse Old Toothbrushes
In this lens I will list numerous and helpful ways in which you can reuse your old toothbrushes.
It is recommended that we replace our toothbrushes every 3 to 4 months or when the bristles get frayed.
However, they needed not go straight to landfill. Toothbrushes can be reused!
So why not help the environment if we can?!
Important !!! Post Toothbrush and Pre Recycled Handy Dandy Tool Care...
Now that you are finished with your toothbrush it's time to give it new life as a household tool...but first, some sanitary care!
#1. Clean the used brush...avoid spreading germs by soaking the brush in a bleach solution.
#2. Take a permanent marker and mark your old brush as such, so that it won't be mistakenly re-used. I do this by marking a big black X on it...

Cleaning Tips:1. Clean that gunk build up around the sink faucets and taps!
2. Scrub your kitchen or bathroom tile grout!
3. A dry old toothbrush is great for cleaning those little hairs out of electric razors or grooming clippers.
4. A non-greasy old toothbrush is great for spot removal on carpets, upholstery or laundry stains!
5. Scrub the dirt off of potatoes!
6. Great for removing small oil or grease stains, on tools, workbenches, driveways etc.
7. Clean the dirt around your roller blade or skateboard wheels so they roll smoother!
8. Got muddy shoes? Not any more! Scrub them clean!
9. My hubby's favourite: BICYCLE CHAINS!
10. I use an old toothbrush to clean my jewelry.
11. Scrub the bottle threads to baby bottles or reusable water bottles.
12. My hubby's other fav: clean around the car battery connectors.
13. Clean your nails after gardening!
14. Spring cleaning your windows? Old toothbrushes are great for those window track crevices!
15. Time to clean the dust bunnies in between the keys on your keyboard!
Beauty Tips:
16. Use an old toothbrush to exfoliate rough skin...perhaps around your feet or your heels.
17. 1 squirt of hairspray on an old toothbrush and you can tame those unruly eyebrows...why buy an eyebrow brush?
18. When cleaning combs and hair brushes you can use an old toothbrush to scrub between the bristles.
Miscellaneous Tips:
19. If you want to achieve a speckled look (popular on eggs or in primitive art) you can dip the bristles of an old toothbrush in thin paint or stain and then run a Popsicle stick across the bristles while holding it very close to the surface you wish to speckle.
20. Let's not forget about our 4 legged friends ...use the toothbrush to clean your dog or cat's teeth!
If it's dog poop not mud, clean the shoes then throw out that toothbrush!...there are limits to reusing!

Toothbrush Tip :
It's a good idea to replace your current toothbrush with a brand new one after being sick with a cold or the flu bug.

- I actually use a (sterilized) old toothbrush for an eyelash brush. It is great after applying eye makeup for getting rid of any clumped together lashes and excess mascara. The toothbrush rug idea is new to me as well but it looks interesting. This is a neat lens.

- wow! perfect timing for me to read this lens. My toothbrush is getting old and does need to be replaced. Now i won't throw it out. There are so many uses that will make my life so much easier!
Also, I have a cold and so it's good to know to throw out my toothbrush now after being sick.
