As of the 2006 Census, there were approximately 1,067,610 people who called Rhode Island home. Around 78 percent of residents in the state have a high school education and 25.6 percent have a Bachelor's degree or higher. The median family income in Rhode Island is $47,037, while the national average is $44,334.
