Rhyming Poetry

I love rhyming poetry, for me reads more fluently and when the words are used in the correct context can convey the story that the poet is trying to put across. Although other styles of poetry are full of passion, i think that rhyming poetry can really give the reader that feel good factor that they may be looking for.

A Rhyming Love Poem

A Short and Cute Love Poem

A Short Cute Love Poem

You are my entire world
My very reason to live
And because of the way I feel
To you my heart I give

For I never really understood
The meaning of true love
Until you came into my life
Like an angel from above

So it is with the purest heart
My love I declare for you
That will last an entire lifetime
And for all eternity too

A birthday poem for Dad whatever his age.

Bithday Poem for Father

Guiding Hand

This rhyme is for you father
On your special day
For it contains all the words
That I wish to say

You care for me you nurtured me
And taught me how to grow
Into the person I am today
Grateful from head to toe

And during the times of my life
When I buried my head in the sand
You taught me how to stand up tall
And guided me with a gentle hand

So on this special occasion
The least that I can do
Is give to you this birthday poem
To show that I love you

Poem About The Global Financial Crisis

Poem about the Global Recession

Global Financial Crisis

With talk of a global crisis
And recession everywhere
It's time for us to ask
Do governments really care

Because through many years of hardship
And poverty all around
The politicians told us
There was no money to be found

Yet when the worlds banks
Started to lose control
Our leaders managed to find billions
To dig them out of a hole

And where did this money come from
Those bankers take with glee
From ordinary people
Folk like you and me

So I say to you the people
Now it's time to get real tough
And tell our countries leaders
That we've really had enough

Because there really only is one way
Out of this situation
Is for the entire planet earth
To join together as one nation

So let's destroy poverty
And try to break new ground
By forcing our world leaders
To spread their wealth around

Poem About Global warming

A Global Warming Poem

Global Warming Poem

Global warming is something i think we should all take seriously and here is a poem about how we can all do something to help.

A human Solution

This world belongs
To you and I
The oceans, seas
Lands and sky

So why do people
Seek to destroy
This very planet
We're supposed to enjoy

With greenhouse gases
And high pollution
It is only we humans
That has the solution

So start with your rubbish
Try and recycle it
And at least you'll know
You are helping a bit

And in case you decide
To give it a miss
Go out in the garden
And try to do this

Take a deep breath
Lay on the grass
Look up at the sky
And watch the clouds pass

This is the earth
And there is only one
So let's try and maintain it
For generations to come

Rhyming Poetry in the news

Poetic 'cutlets' a triumph of the soul
The only struggle he had was gripping the pen and gouging it deeply into his scattered notebooks to make rhymes. He seemed terribly awkward to me, but that was because of his physical problems, never his mind, which is arctic-clear.
'Alien vs. Predator,' a Book of Poetry by Michael Robbins
Rare is the young poet these days who doesn't dice our wired world into a baseline mirepoix. What puts his poems over is their sheer joy and dizzy command. He delivers his verses in tight, mostly rhyming quatrains and quintets that march down the page ...

The layers of painted papers add a three-dimensional quality to the images, and the whimsical poems in rhyme by Harrow highlight the animals' quirks. The fanaloka, for example, appears to dance upright on a tree branch, inches away from an onlooking ...

This week: Take a line from any well-known poem and pair it with your own second line to make a humorous couplet. I'm not going to say they must rhyme and have consistent meter, but my hunch is that rhyming, scanning couplets would be much funnier and ...
