Richard Solo iPhone backup battery

The amount of times that my iPhone has given up the ghost just when I need it the most is mind boggling. Being self employed and living pretty much on the road means I'm pretty much stressed out most of the time. Simple (but important) tasks like charging my mobile is almost always forgotten about until its too late. This coupled with the iPhones poor battery life when on 3G is a recipe for disaster.

I email constantly which proves to be a big inconveniece for any smartphone battery apparently. The push and pull, how phones send and receive emails, drains the battery up to 4x as quick as speaking on the phone. So whilst its cheaper to email and text its better to phone someone if the battery life is a problem. Which it is for me.

However, I have recently come across a product thats been in the States for a while but is now available in the UK. It is called the Richard Solo 1800. A rechargeable battery that acts as a backup to the existing iPhone or iPod's battery. The Richard Solo reputabley more than doubles the effective battery life of these Apple products.So I bought bought one. A bit pricey but when your business is on the line the costs irrelevant.

£69.95 from www.richard-solo.co.uk the Richard solo comes with an in car double USB charger and also a retractable USB charger for use with your PC. However, unlike the Richard solo you buy in the States it does not come with a wall mains charger. Shame really when it costs what it does.
That said, I've been using it now for just over a week and its bloody brilliant! No more downtime, always online but always one problem remains. . . . now the wife always gets me!
