- I will be featuring smallmouth in the tips and tricks section this month. One small tip to get your interest ... one very under utilized and valued lure when it comes to smallmouth, is the good ole beetle spin ! Small size ... like 1/8 oz. .... my favorite 2" curly tail grub body colors are white and smoked silver. Many 4lb smallies have come off that rig ! More details to follow soon ....

- DOWN twitching, huh !? never thought of that or obviously tried it, either ... I will ! I always twitch like fishing a plastic worm, and I never use swivels on lures. Only occassionally do I use a barrel swivel and a leader for some lures. I'll have to try the green/red jigs, too. Thanks for the input !

- Hey there....Great info! I'm an avid Crappie guy and have a buddy that loves it too. This is great info. We usually use jigs, and have great success with those, especially a green body with a reddish tail, also Chartrouise is always good. I really appreciate the tips on the bobbers and tieing them on. We'll definitly be using those. One thing I might advise you on, is that if you're useing Jigs with a small lead head, never use a swivel. Tie the line directly to the jig head. The action is much better, and the fish seem more apted to strick. Also, and this is important.....When using a jig, as you've said, keep it moving, but also twitch it down every three or four seconds. By twitching it down I mean a very slight twitch.....Imagine that there is a bead of water on the end eye of your rod, and you're just trying to shake it off. It's a very light twitch, but it will work wonders over twitching UP. Try it and see. Thanks again for the great site.

- Ok, not only have I caught Crappie with Darian, but he cut up some fillets, lightly battered and fried 'em up on the spot. Delicious!
Hey, you need to hook me up with some graphics for my Jon Boat. Good luck on that next citation!
