Use Home Robots to Put Your Housekeeping on Autopilot
Ranked #10,285 in Entertainment, #115,140 overall
I Hate Vacuuming... But My Roomba Robot Vac Doesn't!
Futuristic? No. Here and now. Crazy? Not at all. Feasible? You bet.
The latest home robots are everything you've ever hoped for. You can schedule your robot vac to clean up while you're out! Your floors will be cleaner -- and clean more often -- than ever before.
And you needn't stop at just one robot. Roomba will handle your vacuuming, at home or at work. But there are many more handy indoor and outdoor robots on the market. For instance, do you know about Scooba, the floor washing robot, Dirt Dog, the shop sweeping robot, Looj, the gutter cleaning robot, Verro, the pool cleaning robot, or Robomower?
Another Day, Another Round of Vacuuming... for My Roomba Robot Vacuum!
YOU Can Quit Vacuuming, Too!
Now I don't mean you should go on strike (although I bet the thought has crossed many a parent's mind). What I do suggest is you delegate the disliked deed to a friendly robot! You really can!Did you ever wish you had a robomaid like Rosie, George Jetson's housekeeper? I sure did.
Life in this household, where 4 boys and 2 cats rough and jumble, has certainly become easier for me since Roomba moved in.
I was pretty skeptical at first. And, of course, my sister commented that a round robot could surely not clean square corners. (Oh, but it does!) However, I took the plunge and am I glad I did!
Roomba is a nothing short of astounding! iRobot has been developing Roomba robotic vacuums for over five years. The results are superb. Note that the earlier models were a work in progress, but the current Roomba 500 Series and new Roomba 600 Professional Series truly let you put your vacuuming on automatic pilot.
All you do is plug in Roomba's self-charging home base, program up to 7 times a week that you'd like Roomba to go to work (without you having to lift a finger), then walk through the house picking up the kids' socks and whatnot to prep for Roomba's rounds. Leave the rest to Roomba!
Sure, Roomba takes more time to vacuum than you probably would. But who cares? You're not the one doing the work!
The Roomba 5th and 6th generation robot vacs have all the features you need and want.
To buy or not to buy Roomba? Go ahead and buy! But resist the temptation to get a low-priced one. Either it's a cheap knockoff of Roomba or an earlier Roomba model and you won't be satisfied with it. Go for the Roomba 500 Series, or better still Roomba 610 Professional.
Now get that old bulky upright or canister vacuum cleaner out of the hall closet and give it away to charity!
Ra! Ra! Rooomba!

- Hey Zapz and other dog lovers,
I don't have a dog, but have heard other Roomba owners say their dogs are fine with Roomba. They tend to be curious, but quickly accept Roomba's presence. BTW, I've just posted a new video showing Roomba with ferrets!

- Great idea and wonderful presentation. I've been thinking about this, but my dogs hate and attack the vacuum cleaner when I vacuum. Do you know of any people who have used this with dogs in the house? Do they seem to get used to it after awhile? Anyway, loved your lens.

- I must admit I have 2 currently and 1 has passed. I currently have a 560 named "Rosie" after the jetsons maid and I have just got a 550 which we named "Rosa" from the cleaning lady in the movie Goonies. I love these things and I could not live without them.

- Martin, Roomba 560 (my personal best choice)and Roomba 570 and 580 will vacuum 4 rooms on a single charge, while models 510 and 530 will do 3 rooms. Earlier models did about an hour of vacuuming on one charge. When finished, it automatically returns and recharges at the home base.
A Roomba takes more time to vacuum than you would, but is very thorough and less noisy than a traditional vacuum cleaner. I'm really happy to hear my Roomba working in the background while I get more important things done.
