Rock 4 Life: Aids Relief in Africa
CHESTER - The distance between Richmond and Africa is about to get much shorter.
May 9 musicians from the Thomas Dale High School orchestra and Richmond band Offering will come together to raise money for AIDS relief for their brothers and sisters in Africa. All proceeds from the benefit concert go directly to The Global Fund, which provides education, nutrition, counseling and daily medication AIDS-afflicted children need to survive through a network of stations throughout the African continent.
The Richmond area musicians and many others will help The Global Fund reach its five-year goal of treating nearly 2 million already afflicted and counsel another 62 million. Last year the talented players raised more than $5,000 for a cancer patient.
