Include an additional flower that means something to your relationship together (other than a red rose).
For example: a Lily, because they were a flower of choice in your wedding, or even a dandelion because you picked one for your love many years ago. Choose a flower that reminds you both of a special time you enjoyed together. You can ask your florist to add it in for you, or purchase it separately.

I found this idea in a Martha Stewart magazine for Valentine's Day, and decided to put them to good use for several months after, rather than use them only once.Felt fortune cookies can be filled with random surprises, such as small trinkets and mini love note fortunes. We place them on a dish in the bedroom and check every once in a while to see if there's anything new hiding inside. :-)

Decorate the front of a blank journal using paint, markers, glitter pens, etc. Make sure it's spiral-bound so you can hang ribbons, small trinkets, pendants, beads, accessories from the edge. Start the journal with a long entry about the time you first met and how you fell in love with each other. You both can continue to fill the journal with memorable experiences and happy times together.
You could also start a new scrapbook, including photos, stories, past love notes, movie tickets, vacation brochures, etc. With a scrapbook, you can include unique items and information about the two of you in word and picture form.
