I was asked to handle the toast for an old friend who had moved and was marrying someone I barely knew. Both persons had been previously married for many years. This book not only supplied a beautiful toast (that had an uncanny relation to the ceremony itself), it also provided excellent suggestions for making introductory remarks before the toast that allowed me to both honor the couple and to incorporate the fact that I did not know the groom all that well. The situation was actually a little extra tense for me since there was some "unease" among the groom's offspring about the role they were willing to play in the festivities. Sharon Naylor's book gave me the material and the coaching to handle the situation with confidence. It must have worked because I received a number of compliments afterward. Thank you, Sharon!

The Complete Book of Wedding Toasts [Paperback] I

just loved this book. I've been a bridesmaid so many times and have had to make toasts and say "a few words" on many occasions. I just wish I had had this book ten years ago. Some of the toasts actually brought tears to my eyes. It's truly a reference book that's written with heart, passion, and humor. I recommend it to anyone who needs to come up with a meaningful speech for anniversaries, weddings, any emotion-filled life event

Wedding Toasts Made Easy!: The Complete Guide [Paperback]

I read this book before writing a best man toast for a wedding in September 2007. I paid only $5.54 and it was a great investment. The book is amusing and an easy read. I started with assorted notes and memories of the groom and the book taught me how to shape it into a successful toast. The simple directions and the sample toast will give you confidence. I also purchased and read Your Special Wedding Toasts by Sharon Naylor, which I recommend as well. For both books, you only need to read about 40 pages to cover your particular situation.

What a great book to make one realize the craziness that occurs with getting so involved with wedding details. I laughed and empathized with the author about many of her experiences. This book is a must for any female who is thinking about ever getting married or who just wants to laugh at the idea. The poor grooms-to-be might even get a kick out of knowing that their bride is not the only one measuring candy boxes to be sure the favors will fit!
