Contrary to Popular Belief

WOOD CUTTING BOARDS FOUND TO BE CLEANER AND SAFER

It has long been believed that plastic cutting surfaces are safer than wood cutting surfaces. For many years we have been taught that the porous nature of wood would allow wooden cutting surfaces to absorb dangerous bacteria and be very difficult to clean and keep free of these bacteria.

"The study concluded that the reason for the bacteria's inability to thrive on wooden surfaces is the presence of naturally occurring, noxious antimicrobial agents in the wood."

Great product... I like them all! I didn't know that wood surfaces are less likely to encourage bacteria, so thanks for that info.

These look great and are very functional too!

These are beautiful, as well as functional. We're using a butcher block island from IKEA right now, but it won't fit when we finish remodeling the kitchen.

I WANT one! I had a work station in one kitchen years ago, but it was borrowed from a friend as her kitchen at the time was too small for it, and I moved away and had to 'give it back'. Have missed having one ever since and this one looks perfect! Thanks for telling me about it.
