    I can't remember but I still read Rupert when it comes across my path - so beautifully simple. Simplicity is an art form in itself.

    OMG I remember reading Rupert the Bear books back when I was a kid - in the 1970s. I havent seen any books about Rupert in the last 20 or 30 years that I can remember.

    My wife and daughter both have Rupert bears and annuals. Fun lens to read about the history. Squid Angel blessed.

    Who can resist a bear who has a heart for charity?!!! I'd say that Rupert has successfully stood the test of time. I love how you say Rupert was many children's first introduction to fantasy before media took over. I think that can be missing too much with todays children. I remember creating fantasy characters with my sister out of marbles. I think Rupert would still be a hit in any home. How sweet to have Rupert on a lap while reading of his adventures. That Raggety looks like quite a character.

    I love Rupert The Bear - and the children love him too so I always put lots of Rupert gifts in Christmas stockings :)
