Business Ideas for the Stay At Home Mom (SAHM)

I think it's a dream for all stay at home moms whether consciously realised or an innate urge of our subconscious that we need to contribute financially to the family unit. It's not enough that we do almost everything in terms of the running of the house and raising of the children, we feel an internal pressure to do more. I think it's especially harder for women who were in established careers, maybe feeling as if having children wasn't going to change them and that they would soon return to the workforce while their children were put in daycare (I know i was one of them) but when the time came the decision was too hard and definitely heart wrenching. How could i possibly put my children in the care of someone else just so i can go and make money? Wasn't my children's upbringing, their everyday care, more important? I could always make money later but my children's first five years only happened once. It was these thoughts that led my husband and i to make the decision that i would be a stay at home mom.

After deciding to stay home to look after my daughter, it was only logical that we should complete our family. My husband and i always wanted two children and so when my daughter was 18 months old, i fell pregnant again. My second daughter is now 7 months old and things have settled down for us once again (dear second daughter was colic for the first 12 weeks) and i find that feeling returning. You probably know it, a feeling that you really want to contribute towards the finances, to have an identity apart from mother, wife, cleaner, cook etc. I wanted a title that didn't involve anyone else, just me.

So i've decided to research the home business ideas out there and put them all together for stay at home mothers (and fathers) who want to try their hand at creating an income out of their own living rooms. Please come back and visit because i'll keep updating as i find new ideas.
