As you may or may not know, the great minds at MGM and/or the SciFi channel have decided to cancel Stargate Atlantis, one of the very best Science Fiction shows television has ever seen.

At least one very devoted fan of Stargate Atlantis (my thanks to that person) has started an online petition in an attempt to save this wonderful show. Some people, who are probably not fans, will think that this is in vain, that we the viewers can do nothing to save Stargate Atlantis. To them I say we still have to try! What harm can it do? We can't let Stargate Atlantis go down without a fight.

The purpose of this page is to get the word out that SGA has been cancelled, and that we need to do whatever we can to save this fantastic show!

If you are like me, you love all the characters and the way they interact with each other. Come on, who doesn't love McKay?? The rich story lines just keep getting better. I was always a huge fan of SG1 but, to me, Atlantis is a far superior show! I love that it is not afraid to deal with darker issues than SG1 ever did. That's one of the many things that sets it apart from Stargate SG1, in a very good way!

One of the things I have read, in several different places, is that the ratings have actually been going up! Who cancels a show while it is still young (we're only into season five,) fresh, and only getting better?!

I, for one, am getting tired of excellent shows, such as Stargate Atlantis, being cancelled while other far inferior shows continue on and on. I loved Stargate SG1, and was sorry to see it go, but it did have a good run with ten seasons. Stargate Atlantis definitely deserves to get the same consideration, especially since it is even better than SG1, which was great.

If you are a fan of Stargate Atlantis, then PLEASE sign the petition. The number of signatures is growing by the minute! Don't let it lose momentum. Tell your friends. Spread the word! We must fight to save Stargate Atlantis!
