    Yes, Louis Adamic is definitely the one who should be mentioned but there are so many more that I could easily make an entire webpage with the list of names only. Maybe sometime I will.

    Yes, Melanie, the SNPJ Hall can be rented for weddings, meetings, picnics and banquets.

    [in reply to shirley] No need to be a member of SNPJ to attend any of the dances. Food and drinks (at modest prices) are always available. Suncoast Dance and Party Center (SNPJ Hall) has always been open to the public.

    However, in case you ever become interested in becoming a social member of Slovenian-American Club, the membership at the moment still costs only $6.00/year - and the paid membership (among other things) also "buys you" attendance at the picnic at the end of the season (in May) - with free food and lots of fun - and attendance at the Christmas party in December with dinner and dancing.

    do you have to be a member to attend the polka dance?? do you serve food and drinks while polka dancing?

    At the end of March the season of dances at the Slovenian Club in Spring Hill usually ends. The only thing that happened afterwords last year has been the picnic for all the social and full members - lots of fun, but no dancing.

    However, we have been offered polka dances with D.J. Wackie Jackie Z which could be organized throughout the year, any day but Sundays (because on Sundays he has his radio show - The Polka Party Express on Tampa's WMNF 88.5FM).

    We are still trying to find out if there would be enough interest for DJ polka dancing, therefore - no dates have been set yet.
