January Monthly Board Meeting of SNPJ Lodge 778 in Spring Hill, Florida

The board meeting

This year's first monthly board meeting of Slovene National Benefit Society (SNPJ Lodge 778) took place at the SNPJ hall on County Line in Spring Hill - on Sunday, January 4, 2009.

Attendance was good and there were nothing but happy faces seen in the club's building on that warm and sunny Florida afternoon.

We listened to all the standard reports about finances, minutes from previous meeting, about the maintenance of the building and probably some more.

We sincerely gave a hand to the beautiful lady who is going to be 93 years old on January 16, to another one who celebrated her 39th birthday ;) , we sang for everyone who is adding another year to their youth or anniversary. We greeted a new member, Liz. And all the birthday boys and girls also received a cupcake from Eileen.

The president of the SNPJ Lodge 778 gave us some good news about the mortgage, Grace made some good jokes and made her report much fun to listen to and Walt had some suggestions regarding the next event, Polka DJ Night that will take place on Saturday, January 10th.

Many fliers were available to the attending SNPJ members: about all the future events and webpages related-to/about the Slovene-American Club's events.

Recently a thought crossed my mind that I had been unintentionally neglecting the cooking crew in my online reports about activities of SNPJ Lodge 778. Hence, to make it up, this lens is entirely dedicated to them!

Once again they managed to prepare us a delicious meal and the choices of deserts were simply mouthwatering.

I don't have the names this time but would like to thank in the name of everyone who was present at this monthly board meeting to all of you who made this event possible and pleasing for the rest of us, who didn't help to cook, set the table or wash the dishes...

By the way, according to Grace, John will be charged a rent from now on - for spending so much time at the SNPJ Lodge.

For those who don't know John, the statement above is an inside joke because John does most of the maintenance on the building - and a lot more! :)
Thank you, John...
