Ranked #7,126 in Pets & Animals, #177,722 overall

If Your Investegating On Whether Your Dog's Food Is Safe Then You Probably Have A Good Idea That It Might Not Be

The majority of dog food is not safe. They have a high amount of very bad preservatives, a fake protein that does nothing for your dog, artifical colors, and a host of meat that wouldn't be edible for a rat. Making dog food is all about the bottom line and how much of a profit they can make. The dog food industry is doing nothing illegal by using all of these ingredients.

Ethoxyquin (EQ) Is A Preservative Used In Dog Food

EQ has been banned from human consumption for years

EQ was banned from human consumption because of the side effects. Factory workers who were exposed to EQ had the same side effects that they would have had if they had been exposed to Agent Orange.

The side effects of EQ were:

A Dramatic Rise In Liver Or Kidney Damage

Cancerious Skin Lesions

Hair Loss

Blindness

Leukemia

Fetal Abnormalities

In dogs EQ has been linked to:

Immune Deficiency Syndrome

Spleen, Stomach, And Liver Cancers

A Host Of Allergies

Even knowing that EQ has serious side effects has not stopped dog food Companies from using it nor has it been made illegal.

Dog food companies can also tell you that their food is preservative free when its not. If they did not put the preservatives in the food themselves they don't have to say that it exists.

A Cheap Synthetic Protein Is Used Instead Of Real Meat

Dog Food Company's Have Found A Synthetic Protien That Look Like Real Protein

The synthetic protein that dog food companies use looks just like real protein when tested in a lab however when your dog eats it he receives no protein. Dogs need protein to be healthy as they are mainly carniverous. The dog food companies use this protein because it is a much cheaper way to make dog food.

The Meat That Is Used In Dog Food Is Anything but Safe

The meat used in dog food is the leftover meat and byproducts we can not eat

The meat from the cows comes from everything they can not give to humans. This includes any dead, diseased, or dying animal. In fact, dogs and cats that are put down at the pound are used in dog food. The poison that is used, Sodium Pentobarbital, is still in active form in dog food because it does not cook out of the animals even at high temperatures. So your dog might be consuming poison.

Everyone should read this and be informed about what’s in our pet food. I made sure that the dog food I buy is safe – I check every bag online and make sure it has been tested for contaminants. You mentioned ethoxyquin so I called Natural Balance and asked about it – a very nice and informed vet tech told me that they do not add it to their foods and answered all my other questions. Their ingredients are top quality and I know I can trust them.
