The Safest Products for Our Kids

Today, our environment is full of chemicals and preservatives from automobiles to the products we use every day - and in many cases more than once a day.

I have been ignorant for many years, and trusted the TV ads and well-known names. As I've started doing research learning to create a healthier home for my family, I've come across much that has me wondering about the effects of all the chemicals and preservatives we find in just about everything. IQs have gone down, kids just don't seem to have the "staying" power of - say - just 20 years ago. They get sick more easily and many diseases are on the rise.

Were the Products I Used the Best?

When my own daughter was a baby, she used to get sick a lot, and I couldn't figure it out. I had no idea what I could be doing. As not one of them come with a manual, I did the routine of changing, feeding, and washing, and she got her infant vitamins. At her regular check up, I asked the pediatrician what it was he thought I was doing. His reply was that I was keeping her too clean. It didn't make sense to me, but I figured he knew best. So, I bathed her less often. Even without the extra water from a bath, she grew like a weed.

Today, with all the news about the chemicals in products, I ask myself: "Did I keep her too clean, or was it the products I was using?"

Formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane are both considered probable carcinogens by the Environmental Protection Agency. (You'll see a long list of baby items that have these ingredients on this page as well.)

Keeping in mind that a baby and child's skin is extremely thin and what you put on the skin enters their blood stream, are these the things we want to use? Their little immune systems just are not ready to fight the damage these chemicals can do.

Our families are precious to us so we figure they're precious to everyone else, right? We want them to grow up tall, strong, and determined - able to make it on their own when the time comes and which happens too quickly. I'm beginning to realize there are many people who just don't understand how fragile little bodies really are. Our babies and kids need us to watch out for them and give them the best possible care and start in life that we can using the best products on the planet that we can find. There is some very good information in this Booklet about Children's Health.

Testimonial on Children's Vitamins

Trouble with focus and reading?

Jessie is a 9 year old with a learning disability. She has trouble focusing and reading. Many tests have proven she is not Autistic, Mentally Retarded or Aspergers Syndrome. She is just a little slow. When she draws a stick person she may have the arms coming out of the head or legs from the torso in the wrong place. That is just the way she sees it in her little mind. Then came Mighty Smart and Incredivites.
Incredivites
MightySmart

Her mom ordered on the first day it was available. Jessie was pumped up on her shipment of special vitamins just for her. She was so excited. Then the arrived on May 13th. She loved the way they tasted. It was her package. She started on them that day.

May 25th she was watching a cartoon educational show on the platypus. They demonstrated how to draw the animal. After the show she told her mom she was going to draw a platypus. She drew it perfectly!!! Her mom was so happy she said this one was for the refrigerator. She never had been able to draw like this before!

On May 26 Jessie was doing her reading. This is difficult for her. She was sounding out her words for her mom. Her focus seemed to much better than usual. Then she came to the word "look" which she did not sound out. Mom noticed she had not and asked her why she had not sounded it out. She replied "that was one of my spelling words from yesterday". Jessie has not been capable of having this memory before. Mom said she got tears in her eyes at this point. She states that Jessie is just a different child since the vitamins.

Mom anticipates Jessie will have a very improved reading capability by the beginning school year in August. This is just the beginning of the life of Jessie and all the other children in the world who desperately need Mighty Smarts and Incredivites!!

Mom told of purchasing many educational things trying to help Jessie learn. Many sat untouched. She had some puzzles with a about 20 pieces each. One day Jessie came home and instead of watching TV wanted to put together her puzzles. Mom was amazed. She got all four puzzles out with her mom stating "just do one at a time." Jessie continued to dump all four out on the table. Within 20 minutes she had all 4 put together correctly. She had not been able to even put one together before. It was amazing.

Jessie has started to hold her pencil correctly, is more willing to do work sheets with me, and is retaining information much better. (Well, anything on that front is an improvement because she couldn't retain anything for a very long time before). I told her the other day that 2 and 2 is 5. She told me "Mooooommmmmmm, it is not 5, it is only 4!" Yeah Jessie.

Shaklee and diet change together can make a real difference

I have an autistic granddaughter who just turned 7 years old. She, until recently, was not very responsive or verbal. She would answer in one or two words to a question. She would choose not to look a person in the eye most of the time, and would not follow most requests, seeming to ignore any request.

After a couple weeks on the Shaklee Mighty Smarts (1 a day), Incredivites (2), Meal Shakes (1 AM serving), and OptiFlora Capsule (1) per day, along with a diet where her sugar was greatly decreased, something phenomenal happened. One day while I was babysitting her, Abi was coloring (scribbling) on a picture from a coloring book, and looked at the crayons before her, wanting to choose another color. I picked up the green crayon, showed it to her, and said, "Why don't you use the green crayon." She put her crayon down, looked right at me, and said, "I like the purple crayon better," picked up the purple crayon, and continued to color. My mouth dropped open in amazement. Then I noticed that when I asked her to take her lunch plate into the kitchen and put it on the counter near the sink, she followed directions and did exactly what I asked. She dropped nothing, and didn't crash it into the sink as I expected. She had less "fits" and they were less severe. Then I noticed throughout the rest of the afternoon that she was speaking in full sentences and looking right at me when she spoke. WOW! I asked her mother if she noticed any changes. She said, "Oh, yes, and so has her teacher." Then EZ Gest was introduced as well, because we heard Autistic children are deficient in digestive enzymes. She did very well with this program.

However, later the mother put her back on a sugary and starchy diet, took away the Incredivites, Meal Shakes, and OptiFlora. She is still a little improved, especially her sentence structure and willingness to make eye contact. But she is not doing as well since her supplements have been reduced and her diet has declined in quality.

I know Shaklee and diet change together can make a real difference for Autistic children. Just try it! And be patient. I'd be glad to talk with anyone who has an Autistic child and has any questions. ~ PJ Myers

Kids seem to be getting "weaker" from not only all the "junk" manufacturers say is "safe" but also from all the "junk" they now have in their lives. Used to be we played physically for hours; now play seems to be setting alone in front of a computer or video game.
Could this be part of the brain drain of our youth, as well as the IQ reduction from toxins?
I'm off to do more research.

Yes, I too raised my daughter living with the belief that someone else had made sure everything was safe, natural, etc. Wow, what a reality check! Thanks for the great info, hopefully new Mom's and Dad's out there will be more informed than we had the opportunity of.
