History of the band Saliva

History of the band Saliva

Saliva was originally founded in Memphis, Tennessee in September 1996. After competing in the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences Grammy Showcase competition, where they advanced to the final round in New York City, the group self-released their self-titled debut album which sold over 10,000 copies in their region, prompting Island Records to take notice. Their Island debut Every Six Seconds was released in 2001, followed by Back Into Your System in 2002, which included the chart topping hits 'Always', and 'Rest In Pieces' co-written by James Michael and Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe. The band toured in 2003, opening for Kiss and Aerosmith.

On May 29, 2005, guitarist Chris D'abaldo announced he had left the band "for obvious reasons, as the band is not a unit anymore." He then shortly retracted his statement and apologized, declaring on the band's website that "there was a bit of an issue we're working through and we're looking forward to recording a new album later this year". However, band's website currently apologizes yet again for the confusion and confirms that due to "creative differences", D'abaldo is in fact leaving the band, but that Saliva "is completely moving forward as planned and has our best music ahead of us".

Shortly after the departure of D'abaldo, Jonathan Montoya replaced him in the lineup. Chris eventually moved on to start the band Smolder.

Saliva released the album Blood Stained Love Story on January 23, 2007. The single, titled "Ladies & Gentlemen" has been released to radio stations and has made it to #2 (from Billboard.com) on the US Mainstream Rock charts. It is currently included as the background music for Sony's commercials for the PlayStation 3, and can also be heard in on their MySpace profile. The second single released off of the album was "Broken Sunday", which has reached #8 on the mainstream rock chart, and is frequently on the Sirius top 20 on Octane. Saliva's tour manager Chris stated that the new single off Blood Stained Love Story will be Track 4 "King of the Stereo".

In an interview on Rockline Radio the band announced that they had written new material, and would be heading back into the studio with Bob Marlette in the near future to begin work on their 5th Album which is to be called Monstar. The album is expected to be released in the fall 2008.

In an interview with WWE on the 27th of February, Josey said "We're going to go in the studio probably around May and record our next record. It's called Monster, and if you like "Ladies and Gentlemen" and "Click Click Boom," and more dynamic stuff, it's going to be an ass-whooping of a record. It's going to be 45 minutes of ass-whooping! However, with the announcement of a new tour with Sevendust, and a U.S. military tour to South Korea and Japan, followed by a stint in Europe, the band are not likely to hit the studio till July.

As of April 30th Octane 20 on Sirius Satellite Radio has begun playing a new song titled "Don't Question My Heart" featuring Brent Smith from Shinedown. The song can be found on the album WWE: The Music, Volume 8.

Every Six Seconds is an album by the band Saliva

Great hits like "Click Click Boom" and "Your Disease"!

It is their second album and first under the Def Jam/Island Records label.
Fan Review
Saliva's "Every Six Seconds" not only has heavy riffs, but terrific, melodic vocals and crunching guitar solos. "Your Disease" is the hit getting the commercial attention, but "After Me" is the track with the deepest message, questioning the power of one's faith, its pertinence at various points in our lives, and our purpose on Earth.

This is great stuff, and a very strong effort from a band that deserves merit for its profound messages relating to the human experience. Get it NOW!

"Click Click Boom" is a song by the Hard Rock/Post-grunge band Saliva

Released in 2001 on their second album Every Six Seconds

Use of the song "Click Click Boom" in popular culture
* Official theme song for WWE No Mercy 2001.
* Used in the films; The Fast and the Furious (although it was not on the main OST, however the song's music video can be found on the Special Edition DVD release), How High (also not in the main OST), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and The New Guy.
* Also used in the Warren Miller adventure/extreme sports film, "Cold Fusion."
* Used in the computer games BMX XXX and Test Drive Overdrive.
* Episode 3 of 2002 TV series Power Rangers: Wild Force references the song title in the episode title. The episode is called Click, Click, Zoom.
* The song was deemed inappropriate by Clear Channel Communications and removed from many US radio stations' playlists after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Saliva understood and supported the move, and even refrained from performing CCB at their concerts for several months after the attacks.
* Used as the in-game theme music for MLB pitcher Francisco Cordero, an All-Star closer for the Milwaukee Brewers. The song is played at Miller Park when Cordero comes to the mound, and when an out is achieved against the opposing team whilst Cordero pitches.
* The main finishing move of professional wrestling TNA Wrestling tag team The Motor City Machineguns.
* In April of 2008 the Mother Jones released a list of music used to torture detainees. Of the songs the song "Click Click Boom" appears as one of the songs
* also was in the trailer for American Outlaws
