Our desperate Need For Salvation
Romans 3:23 ; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; The consequence of our human sin is eternal separation from God. God is the only source of life so eternal separation from Him results in eternal death.
However, God has made us a promise...the promise of salvation.
I know that today could be the beginning of a life you have never experienced before...and an excellent one at that ;-)

What is Salvation?
In the Bible, the word 'salvation' means being saved from eternal death and experience peace with God and live forever with Him.A lot of people know the verse In John 3:16 which tells us that by us believing in Jesus Christ we can have salvation and eternal life.
'For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have life eternal - John 3:16 (NIV).
I'd like to break down this scripture to give you a better understanding of it's truth...
'For God so loved the world...'
The 'world' refers to every single person on earth. God really loves you.
'...that He gave His one and only Son...'
This verse shows just how much God loves us. So much so that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sins when He died for us on the cross. When Jesus died He said "It is finished" (John 19:30). He meant that He had done absolutely everything that was needed for our salvation.
Jesus was the Son of God. This means that He was equal to God. Shockingly, even though He was Equal to God, Jesus made the choice to become human and die especially for us.
'...that whoever believes in Him shall not perish...'
If you believe with that Jesus is God's Son and accept Him as you Lord and saviour, you won't have to pay the eternal price for your sins. only because Jesus paid the price when He died for our sins.
'...but have eternal life...'
In the place of eternal death and separation from God, you will now have eternal life the exact moment you trust Christ. From that moment you can know for sure that;
-your sins have been forgiven (Collossians 1:14)
-you are now a child of God (John 1:12)
-you now possess eternal life (John 3:16)

One of my all-time favourite books, August 29, 2005
You should know about this book: it deserves a full 5 star. It's so inspiring, that you simply can't stop reading. I finished it in one night!
Mr. Lutzer explains in this book THE importance of grace, the free gift God gave us through Jesus. With this book, you will truly see how much God loves us, that we are assured of salvation once we believe and walk the path of the Lord. This book will make you grow spiritually, something rare to find in most books. I used to hear "Jesus washed away my sins" but never quite grasped the true meaning of it: why did he have to die for him to do so? If he was God, couldn't he simply have chosen a simpler way? With this book, the answer becomes so logical and so heart and mind touching. In trying to prove to you why yes we can be sure we will spend eternity with God, Lutzer has built one of the best and most grasping explanation of the cross and its central place in our salvation. Then you'll understand why believers can be sure of their salvation: because God paid the price instead of us...to the last cent!
Simply put, no Christian should miss reading this book: its small, exciting, biblically based, and will help you get a step closer to God.
