    If your going to go to trucking school you will need to pass the commercial drivers license tests. Don't pay to practice for your cdl tests. Take them for free at CDL Exams
    ! Experienced drivers can practice to renew your hazmat endorsement here as well as a new endorsement.

    i found a website that said schnieder pays for ur bus ticket and place u stay? and they cover ur classes but u r resposible for ur own meals, i was under the impression that it was like a drive to and drive back home every night class.... is the 1st part true??

    I went to this school in 2006 in Fontana CA, as far as trucking schools go its probably one of the best BUT that still isnt great. The tried to pack in everything including road time into two weeks which is very inadequate, my on the road training was 3 day in a 24ft pup truck delivering auto parts in town, although this isnt always the case, still most of my class mates only spent a max of a week or less on the road training, when they finally get you on ur own you are totally lost and under trained. This first month on my own was hell.
    After that its a decent job accept you never make the money promised, always get attitude from shippers, receiver, other driver, you road manager and of course cops.
    At the end of the day being on the road ALWAYS was too much, its a lonely job and you will have no personal life. I did see the country but only from the interstate.

    Pay $400-800 a week, anything else and they are just lying to you(even other drivers) company drivers dont make that much.

    My husband and I attended Schneider training in Green bay in 2006. We are still with them. Though I do agree with a lot of these comments. There are some good and bad points about Schneider. Some of Schneiders "Boy Scouts" (trainers) are good trainers and some are bad trainers. Just like you have in schools, you have good teachers and you have bad teachers. I agree if you don't catch on. They boot you out. Which isn't right. Because some people are slower at learning. The ones that are saying its fast pace out there, so you need to be, are wrong. If you drive for Schneider and you do this you don't need to be out there then. Your probably one of the drivers that go across the bridge in Louisiana yelling on the CB because we are driving the speed limit. Thats not a good Schneider driver. Schneider drivers obey all traffic laws including speed limit and if your not then you shouldn't be driving for Schneider either. I do the speed limit, through towns, through consruction and on the highway.

    I GOT MY CDL LICENSE AT THERE SCHOOL IN GREEN BAY IN LESS THEN 2 WKS, THAT WAS IN SEPT 06. DROVE FOR THE COMPANY 1 YR TO GET MY SCHOOL FOR FREE. GOOD COMPANY TO START OUT WITH, THEN GET AWAY FROM THE BOTTOM FEEDERS AND GET A HIGHER PAYING DRIVING JOB. YOU WILL KNOW WHO TO WORK FOR AFTER 1 YR. GOOD LUCK

    I have a CDL but i was not trained properly at another school. Will schneider give me a refresher course and a job immediately or do i have to go to school all over again ?

    I went through the training at Fontana in 2005. I already had my CDL, but I hadn't driven recently so I had to go through the whole class. I got better training from Schneider than I recieved from the commercial school where I paid big bucks for just enough training to pass the DMV class A test. They only had two students per instructor, so everybody got enough time behind the wheel. The thing about Schneider though, is that they start newbies out at a low pay rate per mile, and run the crap out of them. Once drivers have enough time in to get an increase in their pay per mile, they seem to get less mileage.

    I thought the school was ok but after you get on the road they gave me the shaft every week had me sitting 3 to 5 days waiting on loads. You used to see there trucks every where but now you don't see them maybe they went broke I hope so all they wanted was you to go through the school they didn't care if you worked for them or not they get the money you pay for school no matter what
