Bio
Mr. Ingram has a passion for connecting people and helping others learn to develop their relationship building and networking skills.
In 1999, Mr. Ingram founded Grey Matter Technologies, a professional IT services company focused primarily on building network infrastructure for small businesses. He and his team developed a sales model which resulted in 600% annual ROI and led to the subsequent sale of the business in 2004.
In 2004, Mr. Ingram relocated to Austin, Texas where he quickly realized that he'd left his biggest asset behind in California, and it wasn't the real estate. His extensive network had been the secret to his first company's success and he didn't know anyone in Austin; so he quickly set out to build a local network. As a newcomer to Austin, he quickly realized that there was both a need and demand for an organization that could track and communicate all the unique and varied networking events in the Austin area. In 2005 Network In Austin was born.
NetworkInAustin.com moved from concept to launch in 45 days and achieved profitability in the first 20 days, even before the official launch. It quickly grew to 350 active members and more than 1,600 subscribers to the weekly newsletter. It has since become the go-to website in Austin for information on upcoming business networking events.
Mr. Ingram has been a regular speaker at Austin Chamber of Commerce events. He is also a member of Catalyst 8 for the Long Center and Bootstrap Austin. Prior to relocating to Austin in 2004 Mr. Ingram served as a member of the Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce; 3 of those years were spent as a member of the Board of Directors. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Fountain Valley, the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce, and a CEO Roundtable called TEC Associates. He was named Ambassador of the Year by the Newport Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce in 2001 for his outstanding contributions to the Chamber and the community .
Scott's work has been featured in the Orange County Register and in Rotarian Magazine. Network in Austin has been featured in the Austin Statesman and the Austin Business Journal. He is also honored to have been accepted to the Leadership Austin Essential 2009 Class.
Mr. Ingram resides in Austin, Texas with his wife and two daughters. He earned his bachelors degree in information technology and business systems analysis from the University of Phoenix.
