Scottish Terriers

Scotties - The only breed we need!

Scottish terriers are my dog of choice. They are loving, loyal, smart, and have minds and personalities all their own.

They are also so darn cute!

In this photo "Megan's Bonny Lass", at about 8 weeks old. We call her Bonny.

The picture below is Bonny at 3 yrs. old.

Our story

We have had Scotties for the past 30 + years. They are like no other dog. Once you have been owned by a Scottie you can never have another kind of dog. They make people smile whenever they see them. They are so recognizable because of their shape, size and color.

We have raised Scottie puppies and that is the most fun and rewarding experience ever.

We have had Scottie gatherings with the 12 Scotties in our area. They have fun getting together for a play day.

We had a parade one summer and asked Barney Bush to be our guest of honor. We got a phone call from the White House apologizing for him not being able to make it.

Our four Scotties range in age from 3yrs. to 14yrs. and have no health problems.

These dogs love children as well as adults.

Over the years we have had eight Scotties and none have ever been mean or have ever bitten anyone.

I love my pet because...

I love Scotties so much that I wrote 2 books about them. This photo is me at a book signing at our scottie parade.

I love Scotties so much that we have not one, but four.

I love the reaction we get from other people when we take a walk. People stop their cars, roll down their windows and tell us their Scottie experiences.

Many times people have never seen a real live Scottie. They are thrilled to see our four. We love all the attention we get.

This is Bonny playing with her brother Murphy. There were six pups in the litter, five were black and one was wheaten.

Mary Margaret - The Scottie - Books

Two children's books about the adventures of a mischevious little Scotty puppy.

I wrote these books because of a hilarious incident that occurred the first night Mary Margaret stayed at her new home. When Lee Ward, her new owner, and my dear friend, called me the next morning and told me the story of Mary Margaret's first night, I couldn't stop laughing!

The story was so funny I kept telling all my friends and family about it. Every time someone heard the story, they would tell me "You should write a book!" And thus,
"The Adventures Of Mary Margaret" was born.

Lee Ward picked out her puppy when it was only three weeks old. She chose a beautiful little girl and named her Mary Margaret. We painted a toe nail red so we could tell which puppy she was. When Scotties are puppies they all look the same!

"It Must Be Mary Margaret" is about her first eight weeks at our house. She was the only puppy in the liter that had a name, so anytime a puppy got into anything we said " It must be Mary Margaret". This became a perfect name for my second book!

You can order the books from Amazon, OR if you would like a signed copy and free shipping on 2 or more books, you can contact me directly and I can send you one. Just send me an email at ndevor@sti.net and let me know you're if you are interested.

More Scottie Pictures

The puppy in the pan is a little girl named Dyna. She was the smallest in the litter but first to do everything. She used the doggy door, escaped the enclosure, and licked a pan clean before any of the other pups.

Litter of six

Look at all those little wagging tails and licking tongues.
This was Bonny's only litter. We sold five pups but couldn't sell the last one, so we named him Boswell and kept him. He is a joy. He is the most loving dog we have ever had. He is so happy that he never had to leave his mom.

A roll in the hay

Murphy and Bonny playing at one of our scottie parties. Murphy turned out to be the biggest dog in the litter. He lives at Mrs. Ward's house with Mary Margaret.

Awesome toys

Scotties need durable toys for their powerful jaws. They love to chase tennis balls and any thing else you can throw. They love tug-of-war games.

Scottish Terrier Collectibles

Everything from soup to nuts.

Scottie collectibles are a big business. I have a 175 page catalog with nothing but
scottie memorabilia. There are also a lot of independent web sites selling mail
order scottie items you can't live without.

There is a beautiful scottie magazine called "Great Scots". It features info on health, scottie rescue, Q&A, stories about peoples pets, etc. It is full of plaid collars and leads, plates and cups, and pictures for sale to scotties lovers.

Scotties were used in advertising, in fabric, kitchen ware, calenders, and toys. Many of the free giveaways from 50 years ago, are selling for a lot of money now.

Scottie items can be found at thrift stores, antique shops, flea markets and even garage sales. The things you buy now will some day be antiques and have significant value.

This is Dyna again

Dyna is dragging her favorite toy all over the house. Her toy is almost as big as she is.
