Scottish Photography
This lens is dedicated to the work of a little known yet widely viewed photographer based in a small fishing village called Lossiemouth in the North East of Scotland.
The photographer in question is me - Steve Hodgson. I have lived and worked around the highlands of Scotland for over 20 years and recently started selling professional grade photographs of areas which have caught my eye in this time.
If you appreciate the work on show here why not check out my full photography portfolio. I would also love to know what you think of my work - please fill in the guest book below.

Loch Morlich
The Cairngorms National Park is open all year round and offers every sort of outdoor activity. There is a well appointed campsite immediately adjacent to Loch Morlich, which is situated at the foot of Cairngorm. It is an idyllic setting at which the Loch Morlich Watersports Centre offers a wide range of waterborne activities including instruction and is suitable for all age groups.
Aviemore
The Station on a cold Winter's Night
This photo was taken with the aid of a tripod - to eliminate camera shake brought on by shivering, whilst waiting for a train to arrive at Aviemore Station. To find out about Aviemore, try the Undiscovered Scotland website.
For information concerning the Steam Railway based in Aviemore, try the Strathspey Railway website.
Sea Spray at Clashach Cove
Moray, Scotland
This image, which I took using a slow shutter speed to blur the spray bouncing off the rocks, is of Clashach Cove in Moray, Scotland. The location is accessible by one of the many coastal paths and walkways that are available in the area.
If you would like information on these why not contact Elgin Tourist Information Centre.
Alternatively if you would like a high quality print of this to remind you of holidays past or those yet to come it is available in the Moray Photography section of SHPhotos.co.uk
Lochindorb Castle
A Bleak and Remote (but very attractive) Location
Lochindorb Castle, situated on an island in Lochindorb, is one of the castles which belonged to "The Wolf of Badenoch" in the late 14th Century. It is often described as bleak and remote, this photograph confirms the description but also shows that bleak doesn't necessarily mean unattractive.

Floodlit Urquhart Castle
Urquhart, Loch Ness, Scotland
This is a picture of the historic Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, not far from Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. The castle has a long and illustrious history which you can discover here.
If you are taking a trip into the Highlands of Scotland you should endeavour to try and find the Loch Ness monster near this castle. It is one of the more beautiful and easily accessible areas of the Highlands and just a couple of hours drive from Edinburgh.
This picture and many more from the area are available for sale as a high quality print in the Scottish Photgraphy section of SHPhotos.
Winter in Speyside
Winter Shadows near Grantown-on-Spey
A trip into Speyside in winter will always present photo opportunities. This photograph was taken on a day when I had to go for a walk with my camera for no ther reason than the sun was shining on a snowy day.
Lossiemouth Lighthouse
Lossiemouth, Moray, Scotland
This image is of the Lossiemouth Lighthouse on the West Beach of Lossie. The lighthouse used to be a manned station in days gone by, however now it is fully automated. It helps stop ships running aground, not only on the Skerries (a collection of partially submerged rocks near Lossie Beach) but also the rocks at its base and along the shoreline.
This picture along with others can be seen in the Lossiemouth Photography section of my website.
