Saving $ Scrapbooking

Often times when I am going through my scrapbook supplies I find things I don't use anymore or things I probably won't use in the future. Why really do I keep them? Mostly, because I spent $ to buy them. Sometimes these papers, stickers, tools, etc. are found on clearance racks. Clearance racks are one of the best places to find good deals, also online at auction and clearance sales. Shop anywhere & everywhere! I sometimes buy from other unsuspecting places. Watch for yard sales, sometimes you are able to pick up really good stuff for cheap! There is a lady close to where I live that sales scrapbooking supplies. She sales them out of her house and at home parties. So always be on the look out for obscure places. Have a party of your own. Invite friends and acquaintances over and trade supplies that you are unlikely to use. Do this on a regular basis and you might find some great treasures!

Find an empty box to put all your tradeable items in. Keep it somewhere handy so you can add items. Also, remember that these can make great gifts for friends and family. Keep in mind who you are giving these items to and if they fit their likes.

Looking for Great Ideas and Uses for Chipboard Letters?

Maybe you want to make your own....

These links are updated daily, and below in the next section is tutorial on how to make your own!

Loading Fetching RSS feed... please stand by

Step By Step - Making Your Own Chipboard Letters

1) Print an extra large letter from your computer on to regular office paper. You can select any size you wish by typing the font size number into the select box on your word processing program.

2) Remove the paper from the chipboard letter and glue the chipboard letter wrong side up to the back of a piece of patterned paper or cardstock.

3) Cut out around the letter and you will have a chipboard letter covered in patterned paper. The edges will be a bit rough since you have hand cut the letter.

4) To smooth out the edges and give your letter more dimension, sand the edges with sand paper or a sanding block.

5) Adhere the finished letter to your scrapbook page using foam tape for even more dimension.

Card and Envelope Making

Great Tips for Beginners...

This section is devoted to Card and Envelope making. A lot of the information provided is great for beginners, but, its also really great as a refresher course for the more advanced crafter!

Card making can be a wonderful creative outlet, and there are many sites that have fresh ideas and step by step instructions for creating the perfect card.

Envelope folding can be an extremely clever way attempt to reach a number of basic goals such as making the largest possible envelope from one piece of paper, to latch or remain sealed without adhesive, and to meet postal requirements and to be attractive.

Many sites have postal guidelines for Envelope Styles and Sizes which are a great resource when making your own envelopes.

Have you ever considered lining your envelope? Read the instructions on how to line your own handcrafted envelopes.

Use simple household items to make your own envelope glue for the flap seal.

Templates for envelopes and cards are found everywhere and are a great resource.
