Miles of Family-Fun Smiles: Tips for Fantastic SeaWorld in Orlando

Have you been to Orlando Florida? My family and I have visited Orlando four of the past five years and this Spring we chose SeaWorld Orlando as our destination for fun and exploration.

This lens will share with you memories and five tips from our recent trip to SeaWorld Orlando.
This lens will share how to :(1)Save On Ticket Purchases, (2) When and Where To Park, (3) Memories and Tips from two of our favorite shows: Believe and Blue Horizons, and (4) Mango Joe's is A Great Place to eat within the park.

If you are new to SeaWorld or a veteran visitor, you are invited to enjoy these tips and share your thoughts on SeaWorld Orlando below!

Tip #1: Purchase tickets online and SAVE!

Discount SeaWorld TIckets

We purchased the Single-Day ticket and enjoyed big savings!

By purchasing our park tickets on line we were able to buy adult tickets at the children rate of $64.95 per ticket and receive a 2nd visit free! Update: Current comparable Adult ticket price as of 04/17/12 is $71.99

This added benefit for purchasing on line worked out wonderfully! The first day we comfortably visited ½ of the park knowing we could enjoy ourselves with a second visit.

Idea to share:: Free Second Day tickets need to be collected at the Customer Service desk located on the left after walking through the Main Entrance.

Tip #2: Pass on the Shamu V.I.P. Parking and Save!

Parking Tip at SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando offers Shamu V.I.P. Parking for $20 per day. Regular parking is $12.00 per day. The V.I.P. parking provides closer parking to the park entrance.

To save and still have fun...Arrive at the park within one hour of opening! We did this each of the two days we visited the park (a Sunday and a Tuesday) and were guided by parking lot staff to a space in lot B which was within close walking distance to either of the park's entrances.

Idea to Share: The main entrance is centrally located, however there is another entrance for ticket holders that is really close to lot B. It's also a great entrance if you are planning on visiting the left half of the park first.

Tip #3: Go Early to the Shamu Believe Show

Believe Show at SeaWorld Orlando

This amazing show is Family Fun at it's best! Arrive early and chose your seat from a large selection of seating. For those who want to cool off or be closest to the killer whales, there's the Splash Zone!

It is amazing and awe-inspiring to witness the relationship the trainers have with these beautiful killer whales. These sea animals are so gentle it's easy to admire the rapport they have with the trainers!

The music, large screens for viewing, ample seating and professional, loving trainers make this a must-see at SeaWorld Orlando.

Idea To Share: At the base of the stadium, there is concession stand offering food and drinks. This is nice if you are arriving early for the show and want a little snack while waiting.

Tip #4: Enjoy Blue Horizons Show!

Blue Horizons at SeaWorld Orlando

This show is colorful, entertaining, and jaw-dropping!

Our entire family enjoyed this presentation of color, skill, and camaraderie. The skill of the trainers and entertainers was amazing! The show also features macaws, a condor, and of course the acrobatic dolphins. It was truly wonderful! A must -see!

Idea to Share: Sit in the center of the stadium and if you can, toward the aisle! Take your camera for some great photo opportunities, especially a video camera if you have one!

Tip #5: Go to Mango Joe's Cafe for Great Food!

Outdoor Seating and Great Food make Mango Joe's Cafe a Winner!

We spotted Mango Joe's Café on our way to the Wild Artic attraction and noted that the menu offered one of favorites, fajitas! The menu also offers a child meal that came in a Shamu carry container and was filled with chicken fingers and french fries. Additionally Mango Joe's Cafe offers fresh garden wraps. The chocolate cake was a real treat, large enough for two people! The food was fresh and eating outdors was ideal!

Idea to Share: We visited Mango Joe's Cafe immediately after leaving the 11:00 am Believe show. The restaurant had just opened and the line was very manageable!

Additional Thoughts...

Some added thoughts about SeaWorld Orlando

This amusement park is extraordinary. We enjoyed the graciousness of all staff members throughout the park, good food, clean park facilities, and a large assortment of activities.

Additional park attractions worth mentioning (well only four since the whole park is fantastic) are: Dolphin Cove, Manatee Rescue, Clydesdale Hamlet, and Shamu's Happy Harbor.

The rides located in the park all appeared to be a real crowd-pleaser. I just don't happen to enjoy rides, but for those who do, the park does not disappoint.

Did you see that the Believe show is changing? The new Killer Whale show is called "One Ocean" and it will debut in April at the SeaWorld Orlando Park. It'll eventually be performed in all three Seaworld parks.
